20. I have watched this video at least a dozen times now. I feel like I was shaken out of a numb state where these events are just too much to process and think about. This video woke me back up, despite me thinking I was going to watch another “thoughts and prayers” and “we need to act”, when it falls on deaf ears to do so. Since Trump was re-elected, I have been sunk down into a deep depression, but this video was the start of me coming out of it. I have hugged my children several times since I watched it, I am terrified for them to start school. Going to orientation for the school year was also a bit of a wake up, as there were so many police officers who were walking around. I was in high school when columbine happened. And I have realized I have been numb to these events since Sandyhook.

    We need to DO SOMETHING. Well said and thank you for speaking to me through the screen. I don’t know what I will do with this newfound awareness, but I won’t sit idly by with a depression so deep, it was impossible to climb out. Thank you for the hand that is pulling me upright.
