In this video I bring you along as I fix a customers 2005 Buick LeSabre that has a customer complaint of no heat. He didn’t complain about the dash shaking with the blower on high but I take care of that too.
-Enjoy!

Great job.
I flush myself every 2 yrs never a problem
I switched from dexcoll to the conventional green. The dexcol made my system cooling system look Rusty and muddy. Is that going to cause any problems.?
Dex-Cool. Yuck. Thanks for the great videos Eric O
What do you do with the old coolant, recycle ?
My son has a 2004 park ave that it looks like the previous owner used that bars leak crap in the cooling system as e erytime I open the radiator cap there is a "silty, sooty" material in the radiator and now I am having trouble with temp and he just told me the heat is not working. Would a flush like you did get rid of that
Love your videos. Just wanted to add my 2 cents, dont take it as a offense please . But doesn't antifreeze make corrosion? So I would think the engine needs to be thoroughly washed off after the job was done because of all the residue antifreeze. Not just blowing it off. It's just my common sense I would think but maybe I'm wrong.
Dude what the heck is a stink pop 😂😂definitely made me laugh
So Funny!! Old Buick drivers well you know. 2005 Park Ave owner and yep my car might out last me. 45 years ago I learned the hard way winterizing my boats in the fall when it was cold is to use a heat gun on all hoses when removing. Still do that today on cars. Takes just a few seconds but aggravation level and less bloody knuckles is WAY worth it.
Pet cock for radiator is on the left side lower area, or radiator drainer gonna need a new o- ring just to be safe it's cheap, no worrys 8.00 remove your storage container and clean properly. Otherwise, you'll be back with this guy again. Sorry, flush your radiator correctly. By removing the plug repeat two or three times until it comes our clear, then fill your system, back up.
I'm having trouble getting good heat… And now I have lukewarm heat on driver's side, then cold blasting out of the passenger side. Interior lighting doesn't come on when I open the door either. 😮â€ðŸ’¨ðŸ˜¬
400k on my 3.8 when I sold it still running. The 3.6 after was a total disaster and that was the last GM motor I owned.
Thorough, as usual ðŸ‘
Good job buddy as always ild vid i know im slow kind of guy
I love my 2000 LeSabre. The intake gaskets were replace before I got it, but with a 170k, I've lovingly had to fix the normal stuff, Plastic elbows, Fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump and MAF sensor. I do hate what has to be the worse window regulator design ever. I've lost count, over the past 15 years, of how many times I've replaced one or the other of them.
Gas gauge is normal…….empty.

snifff snifff. No link to the flush gun….
I think I found my fathers day gift. I've used the radiator flush T fitting to wash out the core.
Had one shop that did steam back flushes, but not once your mileage went up. To many gasket failures.
My No Heat is the actuator motor died and won't move the bellow. At least it is a cheap part, just getting it out will be fun.
This was a great video! You're a good man my friend!
I have learned in my 50 plus years as a mechanic being it's so hard to hit the water drain pan so it's actually made to stand in to keep your feet dry 😅
I know this is a while later. I always use a smear of grease on the thermostat hose ends. NO corrosion is the result. I have never had to replace one. My Ford lasted 1 million KMs. Cheers
The drain plug on the radiator is on the very bottom you need to slide under the bumper, driver side, three-quarter inch socket does not have a petcock just a plug, a nylon plug to be exact
Excellent job
Honest mechanics are rare especially where i live. Good job, especially cleaning it. But what i did is cut the heater hoses in half and it was alot easier to flush. You have to attach a hose on one end so the antifreeze does not make a mess of the engine, about a 5 foot hose and place it in a bucket so you dont get it on the engine. If this was a expensive car good mechanics would not get anything on the engine or car at all., I am OCD customer, i know it wont be 100% without getting on engine, but then you have to rinse it down with clean water. My engine is super clean with over 115,000 miles, Like new. I would not want a messy dirty engine after this, Sorry. But antifreeze is a strong solvent if not washed off correctly. I then installed a 5/8 adapter with circle clamps in one and 3/4 in the other. Fast and easy and then if you need to future clean it would works better and fast. I replace my plastic elbows at 100,000 miles with plastic again, 3 years and no problems. You have to buy them at the dealer for them to work correctly, The O rings are much thicker then the cheap autozone china crap. Also, Dexcool eats through the O rings……From experience
Great videos and diagnostics! What were the elbows called on the intake manifold that you said were a major leak point?
I need work done on my 1990 Buick regal if you were around the corner even if you were 5 miles away I will still take my car to your garage well done professionally
28:27 Forget about it! This customer won the lottery of car repair here…most guys would let some drain out, refill and walk away.
Customer used incorrect coolant in the car and wondered why he had a heat problem. I love how joe home owner thinks they know better then the engineers
I wish you could work on my mom's 2000 Buick. Great job.
You are the man! Looking out for your customers first and then if it needs it, you change it. You are so right about the length a car lasts up there and undoing a hose for flush is a whole lot less trouble than a heater core that is buried in the dash. Great call!
How much is a job like this?
lol when vacuuming the blower motor when it went high speed it looked like it sucked your hand inside
Eric you are hysterical! Flush job outlasts the driver HAHAHAHA
Nice thorough job.
@21:40 Who else thought ERic got sucked into the car or something? I had to rewind to see that he just sped up the video at that point which made it look like he got pulled in hard.
Things happen
DexKill and old Buicks. It's a thing.
I really like how you treat each and every job with the utmost care. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Sure wish we had an honest, trustworthy mechanic like you around here Eric, I'd bring vehicles to you all the time..no doubt. And get the word out about your business. Very hard to find mechanics like you anywhere anymore.
I have a 2004 chev colorado, it does not have a drain on the bottom of the radiator.
thank you
Fortunately for PRNY you guys have to run your heaters, keeps them more operational with use. In the PRCali, they usually break or rot from non use
Good video
Maybe do a tidbit on some of the Scanners, capabilities, Autel, Solus, etc
Preferences?
I know you asked a while back but thought you cover most of the bases.
Just curious about best bang for bucks, cause a scanner is Big Bang for big bucks.
The 3.8 V6 was hard to beat. Had an Olds 98 with that motor. Great MPG and never let us down.
I love those 3800's. Back in the time when the manufacturer actually engineered serviceability into their vehicles.
Things happen?!?! LMAO!!!
Heatercore video needed!
That tool is probably better then me using a small hose trash pump to run evaporust through the system for week.
Flushing out the crusty old dexcool this fix will last.
