" the threads on the balancer are a bit boogered up , so lets use a claw puller "
Right, then break everything else.
Myself, even with the small amount of vehicles i work on i have a bunch of custom tools i have made to help with these things, i would have thought as a professional shop you would have a whole
SLEW of custom puller devices .
how is that old beater worth all the labor and parts cost? Better off crushing it and getting something else
That's hitting hard. Wow.
I don't know if you have received the gasket cutting tool yet or not. I think that would help.
I hate that you just MAGICed the diff out
Pls oil seal number of pulley
Awesome video, but was wondering if I just pulled the engine would it not be easier?
You should have done it right to start with. You know better!
time to get some tap sockets from lisle off of scamazon or where ever.
when i did my oil pan gasket on my '04 ram 2500 4×4, solid front axle with 5.7hemi, i swore they used epoxy instead of what looked like 2 tubes of rtv. after many razor blades and using very thin putty knives graduating to thicker ones and an hour later it was off. NONE of the rtv let go. i had to cut it all the way around and when it came off, it was rtv'ed on both sides of the gasket.
good times.
Datsun
might as well get a new truck.
Was that frontier worth as much as the labor had to have cost? Every part of these videos gave me bad dreams.
In the rust belt we just spray it good ahead of time with penetration slip juice and give it time to soak in
Amazing that anyone would spend 4 times what that thing is worth to fix it
Was just saying lubricant and as you heard me thinking
When Ray said “it is hard job†I was like “Yeaâ€, this is crazy, a million parts need to be taken off, it is scary job, how can you remember to put everything back, hat off to you such good technician, take crazy skill and encouragement to do this, there is no way I can become a mechanic like you.
He always says, "This is either going to work, or it is not." – And he's always right about that.
🤣🤣 "This job is Hard" 🤣🤣 That's what makes it fun 🤣🤣
Bet you love the amateurs that fix the car before you
I would have tried a lubricant and then a bolt to try and work the threads before risking a tap. Also, you could have used a torch to heat the pulley before going ape with the puller and damaging the pulley.
Dude, you got me rolling with the funnies on this one!. I'm going back and watch ep1 then ep3. I still might bust your ""R's"" still if you get me laughing 2 hard! Your cooling system servant 🥶 ðŸ²
18:00 torn intake boot, looks like it might be coming back soon to replace once it starts leaking
We luv u Ray 😬
You sure have opened a can of worms on that truck. What a real pain in the butt.
Ray make longer videos you only have to edit once as opposed to 3 and 4 part video. This seems to be the consensus. Cheers!
jink that car…
Nice repair so far, if you only realized how easily the pulley would have slid had you use the side bolt holes. Hope the crank pulley wasn’t too expensive.
OH god.
The Macarena.
Thats a blast from the 90s
After watching 3 or 4 of these latest videos, I've got to ask. You spend a whole day, sometimes more than one, doing multiple tasks on an engine. Would it not be less time in the long run and less aggravation trying to get into tight spaces, to just take the engines out, put them on an engine stand ( small investment ) and do all the work with all the room in the world and put the engine back in. Some manufacturers even suggest that is the way to repair their engines.
Love from the UK.
3 serpentine belts!! Oy vey, most are now one big one, simpler, and easier to change out every 49K or so
Them Nissan pickups are the bane of your existence. Isn't this not the first one they had fought you the whole way?
The ways o the rust is to apply tension with the puller and smack/tap with a hammer, apply more tension and tappy tap tap until it loses and you win!
This is better than a blockbuster movie. Keep um coming
Just found this and joined. Hope all is well with you and your familia. Paz y salud
So much work! Damn. I am no mechanic but I admire their hard and grueling work.
Didn't this start out as just replace the burned out taillight bulb?
that oil pan is TOAST, bent, now gonna leak even more, time to take this truck to Zee Junk Yard, get $500 scrap
Oy vey….they just made 100 brand new engines at the factory…..you get $90/Hr?
Did you hear?…..RUST NEVER SLEEPS
I thought i was wrong, but i was mistaken
I'm amazed is how you manage to find all the oddball parts ya need in a moment call…goods parts suppliers around there, for all brands
Why put all that work into a vehicle that old.
29:04 – The hose at the bottom of the screen looks collapsed or twisted.
I would have tried penetrating oil on the crank shaft also.
