Hi Guys check out a friends tv show that will be on discovery tonight, check out the preview here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_qmTT1cFKU
Two coats of Turtle Wax and that suckers shine would put your eye out if it was standing in the sun.
They are called the Drive disc and the Driven disc, same principle as the Snapper Comets. We had assembly fixtures in a floor mounted conveyor, you could turn the mower bottom up,. also it uses 00 grease.
Your absolutely right
Did something happen to Mustie 1? All these old videos are appearing on YouTube all of a sudden.
I believe that old mower deserves a battery, bagger assembly (looks like the dual rod rear bag holder would be the same as my Toro), and (are you ready) a paint job!
this is great!
REVERSE ENGINEERING…….ET PHONE HOME …
Genius!
Yazoo Red Rider and Maxim motors in Mississippi issued mowers similar to rear engine Snappers.
Amazing engineering for 1970. This must have been when Snapper was First Class.
I have this exact model. My dad loved using it after he had replaced the engine. He passed away just a few years later from declining health. The mower has been sitting for several years. I aim to get it started first before I put more time and money into it. It needs tires in the worst way. Odd size on these with 3 bolt hubs. I plan to get some MTD tires/rims but the hubs are my problem. If I could get a 5 bolt hub to fit the axle I could make it work. Drill a hole through the hub to mount to the shaft so key ways are not important.
If you have any resources for a pair of hubs that could be made to work let me know
Nice heavy built old machine, good job on a tough one, nothing simple about that mower.
It's just your basic TDS, fear mongering and liberal tears that they're trying to spread like a disease.
The same thing happened to me, but it was from me doing wheelies .
the chain tools i've worked with could be used to help to press the pin back in to just the right position.
Hey Mustie, I know this is old but did this machine ever get a home? I've been looking for one for a while. I might have something you like too?? Let me know!
I know this is an old video and not even sure if you have this machine anymore but I took apart the same one to use the engine in a gokart and I have the mower deck eject cover complete with spring and all. IF you want it, I'll drop it to you in NH. no charge .
Mustie I see you have AAA should have called them for gas !!!🤣
Someone was selling one like this in Jordan, MN. Am I glad I didn't buy it.
You reminded of my Dad
Musty making it work better than it did 🤪
i would put a hydro transmission in it.. cool mower 😎😎
I have one like that but the hood isnt louvred.
Hi mustie1, man i found your channel about a month ago and all can say, you are a freaking engine genius! Nice job on the snapper man.
Great video mustie love watching you fix things keep up great work ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
man this thing is a piece of shit
On your next job can you show us how to time a motor thanks
Good show, as usual I learned some things. I am amazed how well those snapper continuous variable transmissions pull. Don't think I would try to pull a plow with it though. Cheers and all the best!
Gr8 Video!!!! Thanks!!!.. im restoring the same machine and can not get the brake to work….machine does everything except stop when brake applied….brake band is good….is there a mechanism in the tranny that controls the brake drum?
Awesome video keep them coming
That was a mean sounding Snapper…True Dual exhaust…
Great video even when it’s old enjoy watching and learning
I find it interesting that he finds a broken chain and he's trying to figure out why it broke it broke so just fix it why worry about the reason
What Briggs engine is on this Snapper?
Good repair ðŸ‘
tell yuh the truth rusty old tractors that run good are head turners i drive my 72 john deere 112 and people stop and try to buy it all the time an its got sun cracks in the hood rust the original rear tires and engine lol
