Car Parts Getting WORSE! Unboxing Junk!

The A/C compressor clutch melted and fell apart on this Toyota Van. The repair takes 3.4 hours to complete, after installing a replacement compressor the system did not work. Using a scan tool to manually actuate the clutch, the produced pressures were erratic and incorrect. Junk parts strike again! The whole job has to be done again, time for a new Denso unit!

  1. buy a car that is easy to work on and has the engine facing forward, like a Subaru, the alternator ac compressor and power steering pump all can be changed out in less than 1/2 hour, at least on the older models, these front wheel drive models are nightmares

  2. @ 17:57

    😱🤣😱🤣👍🏿🤣😱👍🏿🤣😅😱😅🤣😱👍🏿😂🤣

  3. Had a similar problem with the dealer myself. Went in for my free oil change and asked them to check a slight vibration in the front end. Got shown a fake photo of both of my tie rod ends 'leaking', looked like someone just sprayed them with fluid, they said i needed to balance all my tires, and that my rotors were warped. my car had 27k miles on it. complete stealership.

  4. No Pepsi for you, cheeseburger cheeseburger….. 🍔
I’m astonished and amazed by your calmness and fortitude to defeat the situation. 👍 you can do it.

  5. Beyond all things automotive, efficiency "experts" are wrecking alot of companies: if they can't squeeze some percent out for accountants to gleefully inspect with automation… they are pushing unrepairable [and sometimes short lived] plastics and wrecking customer experience with lowballed/low quality parts. It seems the only recognized "customers" are shareholders, and sales are a 'one and done' show? That ethos… is guaranteed to nuke what's left of brand loyalty in any market.

  6. I recently helped my son replace the engine in 1980 Chevy Pu, the new water pump, thermostat, and fuel pump, all failed within the 1st 500 miles. He learned a valuable lesson about dollar store auto parts/zone

  7. I had someone replace my oil pan gasket because of leak . They bent the pan replacing the gasket. They didn’t replace the pan , filled pan with stickum and pan leaked

  8. FWD V6 in a cab-forward design should be illegal. Longitudinally you have maybe 2 inches on the entire business side of that engine with all the accessories and belts and stuff without full raise-engine from the bay scenario.

  9. No, the customer does not pay you to R & R the defective replacement part. The shop just has to eat it. MAYBE the parts supplier will compensate you a little.

  10. I just bought a new cv axle and the axle was bad right out of the box. It was a GSP brand..generally great reviews..just got a motorcraft part instead. Tried to save a little money and it backfired

  11. Yep, "Stealerships" is what they are. Told me when I brought my jeep in for warranty work that I had maintenance due and it was going to coast $1000 roughly. I did it all myself buying parts and even tools and got it done in about 1.5 hours and $140 bucks.

  12. Hey Ray, that's unfortunate this new compressor didn't do what it was supposed to do. Let us know what you found out about it. Hopefully the replacement works as it should. Cheers!

  13. AT 16:48….I had cheated and pulled up some comments to read within the first 8 mins. DUDE, I kept huffing , just sitting, watching you deinstall. And i now revisit the TITLE, ….. and back to the video,, amazed at your proficiency. If that part is👎 NFG, then out comes a M-1000 🧨 with 8" fuse to make a 💥statement !!!

  14. Rainman Ray is one of the God's of real working auto-mechanics. He has " stayed the course " and hopefully now earns a decent remittance for his videos. This, my old-friends , is the new media and the creme rises to the top. Ray's dedication to his trade has always shown thru and – if nothing else – he has as many customers as he wants in his shop. you know, when the customer has the video – they KNOW exactly what was done. In this case the mechanic has to charge for re-doing the work. It is not his fault the part was faulty and he did the right thing by making the final cheks. depending on the customer, you might split the extra work half-and-half. but really, the mechanic did the work and unless he can correctly test the new part before-hand, this is the work.

  15. I have a 2013 Ford Taurus that needs a water pump replacement, after following you for some time I want you to do it. It's a pretty complex job and would make a good video. If I bring it to you would you be interested in taking care of it for me? And of course all timing components while you are in there.

  16. After a compressor failure some aluminum is traveling inise the lines, Isn't it ?
You can flush them from part of the system but not from the condenser cause the passageway are tiny.

So I've heard compressor failure = flush plus new condenser?

  17. That’s terrible, companies that rebuild parts should be responsible for having to redo a job because of their defective parts. That’s a lot of labor and time wasted.
