This is a guide on how to change GNOME to look more like Windows, OSX, or Unity. Doing this will give your the familiarity that you are used to and make switching to GNOME from any other desktop environment much easier.
One command to do it all:
Check top comment as YouTube shortens the URLs in the description and you can copy the command there without a problem.
My modified Github branch for this script:
https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/gnome-layout-manager
Original Author of the script:

Changed one line command to the following, because YouTube blocks less than and greater than signs.
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ChrisTitusTech/gnome-layout-manager/master/layoutmanager.sh && chmod +x layoutmanager.sh && ./layoutmanager.sh
All the links mentioned here result in 404 errors!! This should be taken down Chris.
hmm ..Chris Titus try to say Greek surname … was hillarious … sorry was hllariou
This is arguably one of the best things Chris has posted and yet only 18 comments. Is it still working as no updates in 3 years 🙁 ??
I added ARc menu look a little better but thanks heaps
Where is the clock, though?
I am far from successful with the path in the first comment or the overlaid path in the video. Has this been abandoned or need to be updated?
Why would you not do Windows 7 Aero?
Why why just why does someone wants the windows feel
I am requesting a video to just make my panel at bottom and make more like xfce set up kind of but without the theme. I can theme myself but since i am planning on coming from xfce to gnome simply because i am tired of not being able to use a lot of themes because they do not contain a Xfwm theme ya know so I am about to switch and I want to make sure I feel comfortable at least from the beginning. I want panel at bottom and whatever else you think would make me more comfortable coming from Xfce and maybe some look and feel tweaks in the video.
Please make one for Windows 7 too.
