In this video I bring you along as I swap out an ECM in this Chevy Tracker that had a code in it for the canister purge valve. A few fast tests show us there is some funny business going on in that ECM. -Enjoy!

  1. The good news is this ECM works and can run a drive cycle but unfortunately the vehicle had a bunch of EVAP leak codes now that it can run the drive cycle. Due to the difficulty of obtaining new OEM or aftermarket parts I was unable to do a complete repair and fix all the EVAP leaks in the tank area. I think rust is going to win on this one…🤷🏼‍♂️

  2. Hey man I need help I have a 2002 tracker 2.5 v6 and I had it all apart replaced the water pump all the gaskets etc did my oil change and it ran great I put it in reverse and it started stuttering at 500rpm and shut off even in neutral it didn’t even try to rev lost all power and wouldn’t start back up motor turns over by hand so not sure why all the sudden after a stall it won’t do anything and had to push it up to the garage I had taken it up and down the road making sure the cooling system bled so it was running good but went to go park it and now it won’t turn over at all after a stall dash and everything lights up but all the sudden the starter won’t go

  3. Got the 04 chevy tracker with the 2.5l v6. Had the ventilation valve on top of the tank snap in half while dropping the tank to change the fuel pump. Few days and layers of jb weld curing and I was goos to go. You absolutely cannot buy anything thats mounted to the tank anywhere. You can buy a new tank, but thats it. Also had an incredibly annoying time finding a replacement IAC valve when it broke. Had to buy some chinesium part but it does work. If you have trackers/gvitaras do yourself a favor and grab as many parts from junk cars as you can. Youre going to wish you had if you dont.

  4. I got fuel in my car and after car stalled, rough running .. wouldn't restart. Have year old battery and starter. I be egan checking symptoms online and YouTube and believed it was evap canister/purge. Dropped off car to mechanic who insisted new alternator was needed before they could diagnose my car. Picked up car after alternator was installed two days ago. Mechanic says u need new serpentine as belt had oil in it. But I had no oil on it B4 alternator was replaced. Picked up car expecting evap and surge to be fixed, replaced. They were not. I drove home.. one day after driving car two blocks and it died. No power. Battery was ok but after several starts wouldn't engage. Why didn't the mechanic just clean or change the purge and it evap canister first based on symptoms? Shop charged $476 for alternator replacement and dx codes p0441 and p0448 were provided at time of pick up after alternator replaced. Was told to find the parts and bring in to shop along with getting new serpentine belt , (was replaced a year ago). Did the mechanic RIP me off?

  5. Oh coincidence …mine is Chevy too. I have an 05 Tahoe that is just the best but the 2015 impala..junk IMO. Doesn’t have much mileage and is in the shop for shutting off and jerking. To me it is way too new and too low of mileage for this. I guess the Tahoe could have spoiled me though.

  6. Similar issue with a 2000 Chevy Tracker but only getting the P0455 code. The mechanic says I need a new cannister. The cannisters basically don't exist anymore + I've been told it's not usually the cannister and this same shop "fixed" the issue twice without actually fixing anything. I'm at a very sketch point where I have to figure it out or try to get a new car. If it's something this simple, I'm pissed and the mechanic obviously hates me and Bessie.

  7. With CKP sensor on Mopar, and having no definite failure evidence with the playback views of pids, have you ever recorded the result on a cranking test with a DVOM like a fluke 88 does?

  8. I have the Grand Vitera version. This thing runs like a scalded ape (manual tranny), but good god these things are a complete pain in the arse!

  9. Eric, your Biography was really talking about you, was it? I and I are sure others do not need to know about your schooling and net worth. AT least I don't
