  1. Same thing (ABS problem) happens to Honda too. I put a ReMan ABS pump into my uncle's Honda Fit 2006 a few months ago. The reman unit was £110 comes with pump & electronic. We didn't know what was at fault so we put the whole thing in. Bleed the brakes, reset a couple of lights, done. I wouldn't say it is common, but there are a few similar cases reported on the Internet.

  2. Likely not an issue with a module this old. However, some brake modules have analog valves, where the valve in the hydraulic block and the coil in the ECU are a calibrated set. The calibration values are programmed at the brake module factory, and stored in the ECU memory. By swapping out the ECU, you are only getting the coil portion of the calibration. This can cause stability and traction pressure builds that are too large/small to control the vehicle properly. Unless the OEM repair procedure allows for swapping out the ECU only, or gives in shop calibration procedure, this type of repair is not recommended.

  3. far too many linked slow "bus" junk. it's like the auto industry started with what the computer/networking industry threw away 10+ years prior. which I understand somewhat, but it's only good in an perfect lab setting. real world has uncontrolled humidity, road debris, vibration, corrosive water intrusion, etc. 🥸

  4. Hi buddy, I watched your video where the HVAC mode control of a Chevy Tahoe was stuck at defrost position. I have a somewhat similar problem in my Suburban 2011. The mode control goes to all positions except the panel position. Can you help me with the probable reason?

  5. Hey Eric, just started to watch another YouTuber and after 2 minutes in my cringe kicked in.
I'm a car buff and fan of SMA especially your diagnostic process but watching brand "X" I found myself saying "that's not the way Eric" does it.
As far as a business you should be proud that your customers get the experience of a good diagnosis on the front end of the repair job. And that is money we'll spent!

  6. Was driving a Mercury Cougar rental when I hit black ice while driving in Yosemite. The rear end cut loose and I'll be damned if that car didn't take control of itself and straitened itself up. Heart palps because the oncoming traffic was a hell of a lot bigger than me.

  7. A common issue on the 1996-2002 Volvo V70. Dry joints in the control box. Remove the control box, as you just did and the board has broken solder points where the solenoids attach to the board.
20 minutes from start, repair and replace.

  8. Saw you fix the Honda!!! New engine…oh my God. I wish I had a shop locally (DC area) that could diagnose and fix correctly! You’re too far for me to take my car to you!!! BEST WISHES! Keep on keeping on!

  9. Thank you Eric for this follow up and completing video on this open and shut case.

Curious what happened to your Icon T10 Diagnostic Scanner? As I see you are back to your Autel, did you prefer the Autel setup over the Icon T10?
