Well, it's November 2021, and after seeing that ice cream cone at the end of this video – mama, me & da pup are going to Sonics tonight for an ice cream sundae!
Nice job Sir!
Another success!
Wonder what kinda Bill a guy would have on the labor from a shop for that job !
There doesn't seem to be a playlist for this series, or I missed it. Liked it though, keep up the great work!
A lot quieter than I thought it would turn out to be.. Tops !!!! Excellent effort .. chocolate ice cream please
I seem to remember in video about six parts ago where Mr Mustie1 Dude said "Transmission leaks a bit, but I'm okay with it".
get it right no matter how long it takes well done
Dude I haven't had dairy in 20 years! That makes me really want an ice cream cone you're killing me mustie1.
A reverse light on the rear ?
Road testicle is now in the lexicon. Great job on the repair.
great series Mustie, glad to see the bus up and running again
You need to use POR 15 on that rusty metal. It will stop the rust. I use it on everything I fix.
You are an inspiration Mustie! I’ve got a 76 vert bug that needs some bottom up love and a 73 super just waiting for attention. Sometimes I feel there’s so much to do on them, I don’t know where to start! I’ll work on something just so long then have to take a break on it and work on something else. I’ve seen you work through your frustrations many times. Keep on buggin’!
Watched all 5 videos in this series. Spare parts are helpful.
All is well!
I knew Crusty would live again as this video is 3 years old that means I'm from the future.
A friend of my converts the trucks to the Beetle axels to get better speed and mileage on the highway.
Good job I'm glad crustys ok now, especially after watching the whole restoration series, now I wanna see some paint on the double cab
Hooray!
Think about the two ring gears assuming they're both the same OD, outer diameter, the one that has more teeth means the teeth have to be closer together, therefore the two pinions may have the same 18 teeth but the matching pinion will have its teeth closer together so you have to stay with matching pinion to ring gear.

I like the old Crusty cool old ride Mr.Musti 1
Whats interesting to me is,–as I ride along with you throughout this part of the country. I get to know where we are going. Even though, I've never been here—ever. All this Camera work and I don't even get grease on my hands. Hum, interesting !!
Enjoy that ice cream ðŸ¦ðŸ˜„
I'm curious about those awful Convairs that had a similar setup to VW, did they have a trans axle like VW?
That was interesting. Scared the $%^ out of me when you couldn't find 2nd after you left the driveway, but yeah, you can hear the missing whine growl and eventually grinding noise of the old transmission..and it wasn't missed at all! Needed me as a co-pilot as once I knew it was quiet I could have recreated those noises for viewers enjoyment (and your fears 😉 and first thing I said was "take mamma out for an ice cream" then realized she would have been the one to rescue you if it all went bad on the trip! Luckily it sounds like that never happened, and have to say, it's somewhat strange how we the viewers get as attached to these favorites as much as you do, at least this 1 anyways, on that note, keep those R's down! She's not a racer! lol
