Ford in the UK made a V4 for their early vans.
12:00 the L92 engines were never offered with AFM/DOD. The one you are thinking of is the L94. The flat valley cover is stock.
However, early build L92s (prior to 1 April, 2006) DID have AFM/DOD hardware onboard, for reasons unknown. The software wasn't present in the PCMs in the vehicles so equipped and thus the system wasn't active.

Im up here in Canada, and I've been using Costco synthetic. Meets all the standards and such. I just really dont want to go back to dino oil ever. 21 year old highlander with about 400,000km(250,000Miles) on it. No sludge, 10,000km oil changes with OEM filter.
Ford:

Lancia:
