  1. Pretty well researched video and you definitely bring up some good points. In regards to the Charles Wayne deposits it's very easily explained. He goes around to popular streamers from time to time and makes donations during the livestream so everyone watching sees it. He also donates 10,000 Lino to each streamer that makes it to Global Partner, which I did but subsequently was unable to sustain and then reverted back to verified partner. I can't speak on behalf of their business plan but I do know from conversations I've had with them is that the current model is based on growth, not profit. Much was the same thing when I was starting my own channel. It was not profitable and took years before I could sustain myself on it. I believe a lot of people are drawn to risk-reward ventures, and I'm certainly one of them. I streamed for years on twitch and saw next to no growth in my income because the market is saturated. Twitch wasn't right for me. Dlive is a great place for people to start their career as a streamer. There is no guarantee Dlive will succeed, there is no guarantee my channel will succeed long term, but I choose to invest my time in them because I believe in them. That doesn't make me right though. Great video.

  2. Wait, why is the dLive a scam? It's a top-tier console.

Edit: Never mind… clearly this isn't about the dLive audio console (which is definitely not a scam).

  3. Hello Chris, I like your videos and as a BitTorrent fan, now that they acquired DLive, would you mind sharing your perspective? BTT works on TRON blockchain and is a public blockchain, they are also offering BTT staking to distribute gains with BTT holders and partners. Would love to hear your current perspective 🙂

  4. Hey I saw your video and now I am pretty concern about dlive I have been wanting to try and stream on dlive on Saturday should i still go for dlive or just stick with twitch

  5. My Google Chrome keeps popping up DLive when I start up my PC. I found out that uTorrent was advertising it, I didn't even know how i clicked it. My dad helped me and said that you have virus on your computer. Also I found that in my PC there's 2 apps that are called "Programs". Does everyone has it or just me? I didn't find any information how to block/get rid of the DLive website.

  6. Thank you for posting this informative video. In additon to the concerns you
raised I am suprised how few streamers are raising awareness in regards
to the problem of predators using the Dlive platform to groom
children…. When a 38 year old tells a 14 year old to call him
"Meat-Popsicle", doxes her location (multiple times), and an older
boomer is callin the child mesmerizing there is an issue. Yet the only
one punished is the one streamer actually raising concerns about the
grooming happening on the platform. Along with this, why are popular
Dlive streamers using Omegle to chat with the14 year old? Of all
chatting platforms to choose from and they use Omegle to chat with a
youth. Children should avoid Omegle it is a dangerous website for them.
Unfortunately there are even darker concerns no-one seems to have the
guts to speak about without fear of not becoming a global
    partner/censored etc… #DlivePizzagate?

  7. There are a myriad of YouTube creators who will start a livestream here on YouTube only to shut it down early and move it to DLive to try and lure you there. No thanx. And as a sidenote: AVOID DISCORD AT ALL COST !!! I downloaded it twice and both times my PC became infected with Malware. An easy enough of a fix, but never again.

  8. i think people just arent used to the fact that we can publicly see transactions, most companies hide it, dlive puts it in the open, how do we know twitch didnt start the same way? every website has an investment it has to make and overhead to cover in the beginning before profits start to roll in…so give them time. dlive is IT

  9. so far im loving dlive, the community is mostly great and very supportive and they have announced that ads will be coming soon so im guessing this is there way to make money now.
i have a fair bit locked in and use my LP to support others while cashing out what i earn to help improve my stream. I would never go back to twitch if anything i'd move to mixer or youtube but twitch is defo not the place for me.

  10. I don't think "scam" was ever the correct word. Risky-as-all-hell seems more accurate. It's an in-development system, and I don't think it'll begin to turn a profit until the mainnet goes live and they produce the actual crypto, which can actually vary in value and generate profit based on the value of the people who use the network. Will it wind up working? No idea, but all I can say is I like the concept, even if Lino isn't the one to do it successfully.

  11. I think it's far too early to say anything about their business model. Fact is that they are entering into a market that is being dominated by Amazon and Google, which by itself is nuts. However, a lot of creators are disgruntled with them, so they may have an opening there. Them paying out their own currency to creators, especially big names like Pewdiepie, is a completely normal business move. Not only are they incentivizing more creators to try their platform that way, allowing them to gain a community and get their business off the ground, they also need to get their cryptocurrency out there so people can use and spend it.
That they are mindful about how much of that cryptocurrency they put out there by not paying huge amounts into the main wallet is also a good thing, because every time they convert their own money into Linos, they are essentially printing money. Which is something they need to do in the beginning, as the currency grows, but doing it too quickly would cause inflation and the currency to crash.
When you said you don't see their business model working, you are also forgetting about one essential thing that the stats on their main wallet don't show: they are acting as a bank. As such they don't just make money from people buying their currency, they also seem to take a small percentage of each transaction in fees.
So with the market situation as it is and their unusual but interesting business model, it is impossible to say where this is going. However, having the biggest YouTuber as an advocate and active streamer on their platform is a HUGE deal! So their chances of becoming established and stable aren't bad at all right now.

  12. The 5000 Lino Charles sent Legend was from the January happy hour event where Legend placed in the top 10 and received a reward.

You're putting too much emphasis on not enough money being cashed in w/ Lino and cashed out. Majority of the cash outs are coming from donations, that pool is never touched. There is a small amount that the blockchain pays out from in the form of content bonus, and the team pays out the treasure chest.

As for sustainability, you should read the Lino blockchain overview which is right on the Lino website. The team has also mentioned releasing ads and premium features in the future in addition to the sustainability model defined in the Lino blockchain overview.

  13. I have a topic for you. I just did a fancy Debian Buster Plasma
install. It came pre-loaded with 2 gui package installers.
Discover and Apper. Apper uses 7 MB of RAM and Discover uses 208 MB
of RAM. Feel free to correct me. There was some debate about
this back in 2015 in Fedora, and then about a year ago on Reddit.
But apparently all of that debate is obsolete now as both Discover and
Apper have both made lots of progress in development. A user does
not need both. So I assume a user will tinker with them and
eventually remove one of them. Can either be removed safely ?

By the way, the new RC Installer ( Calamares ? ) for Debian Buster
worked for me. It is not part of their daily builds of Buster, so
not sure if this installer will make it into Buster. Surely somebody
out there would know ? I thought setting up Debian Buster was easier
    than Fedora and OpenSUSE.

If a Linux user is comfortable in Debian, is there any logical reason to
use Ubuntu-based distros ? is there any reason to use a
Debian-based distro, such as SparkyLinux ? I would say definitely
use SparkyLinux. I love SparkyLinux 5. I also love Netrunner
Blackbird. But I am going to stay in Debian Buster on hardware as my
only OS until I get bored or run into a wall.

By the way, Debian Buster Plasma comes with Konqueror as the
    web-browser.

  14. went on their site, my GPU usage shot up to 35 percent on a RTX 2060 and stayed there until i restarted i constantly have hw monitor open so its not normal on my pc especially with just the browser open,,,,no reason for that to happen, their using peoples devices to mine crypto,,i mentioned it to someone and got BANNED so yeah…be cautious

  15. You can't simply evaluate DLive purely on the Guidelines and TOS. DLive was never meant to BE profitable. It is an App built on top of the Lino Blockchain where the entire purpose is to put the power and money (much like BitCoin which is worth whatever people are willing to pay for it) back into the hands of the people.

https://docsend.com/view/y9qtwb6 – This is the vision of the Lino Blockchain
https://lino.network/ – This is the website where I found their Blockchain Overview.

In order to understand how this works you have to understand how Crypto in general works. Then, through understanding of how Proof of Work functions, you can understand how Proof of Stake functions in contrast. DLive will never be profitable for anyone other than for the people who are investing their own time and money into the platform which is the point of Crypto Currency-based Economic Solutions.

  16. I believe you misunderstood the transactions for purchasing Lino through the website. When you buy from DLive you get transferred points from dlivepayment-1 to dlivepayment-7. The points sent from the Lino account is only a small portion of the purchases that represent one purchase method.

You can see the details here:
    https://tracker.lino.network/#/account/dlivepayment-1

Your points are valid otherwise. I do believe in the platform however, and I’m willing to take the risk.
