Come along with Eric O. at the SMA repair shop as we do a quick diagnosis on this 2006 Dodge Caliber with the infamous DTC P2004 – Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open. We also get to see a small example as to why having two scan tools is a good thing as the Snap-On Verus fails again.

  1. I know this is an old video. The problem I’m having is a p2015. Replaced the intake with the switch and still have same code. I have a solus edge and it don’t even have a listing for the flow valve pid. Didn’t cost as much as the verus but still a pain. Thanks for another great video! Can you calibrate that with a launch or does it have to be an Autel ? Which autel do you have there? Thanks in advance Mr O!

  2. Hey Eric, good morning, man. Heycan you please help me out with a cuestion I bought a 2011 dodge caliber, but it doesn't have the intake magnefull runner control valve. Is this normal

  3. I have same car on warm up (Canada )it goes into limp mode. Shut it off wait a couple minutes and it starts up and runs fine. Watcha think I should replace.

  4. Hi I need help with an 09 dodge caliber with trouble code p2004, I've changed the the control valve, and same problem, then I change the intake manifold, and it does the same thing with no code, the problem is the car will start and run just fine, but when put in gear the engine just shuts off, so i bought a obd scan , thinking maybe I need to reprogram the ecm, like you said, and the one I have doesn't do that, I guess because was cheap, wasn't trying to spend an arm and leg just too reprogram the ecm, can someone help me out pls.

  5. So mine says intake manifold runner control stuck open. The engine light is on but went off the other day now came back on. Is it OK to still drive like this? Just gonna be bad on gas basically?

  6. I have an 08 compass 2.4l and am having trouble diagnosing the upstream o2 sensor slow response code ive changed sensors and everything and can't figure it out. I'm led to now maybe the intake manifold leaking? Or any suggestions? I'd forever be in your debt sir as I've been trying to get this jeep fixed and inspected for months. Now being after the new year in ny state the color of the sticker has changed and its an instant pull me over lol so I pay insurance on a vehicle I can't drive. Any advice at all thanks sincerely murph

  7. This is not cut and dry! The intake could be sticking thinking its the valve! also, they could have ground, splice, problems according to the schematic diagram!

  8. Will this cause the car not to move? I'm getting this code. My car will turn on, but when I put it in drive or reverse and press the gas, it won't move. It might briefly jerk an inch or 2 but that's it.

  9. got a similar one it's a 07 2.7l v6 charger … verified all the values to confirm a bad value . replaced it for customer still having a code for random misfire and intake manifold runner valve circut hi I had this person buy all 4 new o2 because I notice there are all stuck on hi. any direction for me . we also remove the intake mAnifold clean the best I could . my original code was a Chrysler p1005 . as I said replaced the value at the customer expense . still having a issue… my next step for me is to physically remove each coil to chase the misfire because my thought Is even if the intake has an issue . I should not see a miss at idle which is what's going on . also I not that the rpm is limited to 4,000rmp no matter the speed of vehicle . anyone with help please comment back

  10. I saw this video today. I have a 2009 Avenger. Same issue to IMRC code p2004. If I replace just the IMRC does the ECM need a flash or just if I replace the whole intake with the new IMRC attached ?
