  1. Hi, right. Just watched you lifting the cab off. Your vehicle, is there a sixseries? This wasnRecorded 9 months ago.Could you let me know when the next one is out are?If it is already out

  2. I am an ASE certified flat rate technician and I couldn't make videos of me repairing vehicles without saying g*ddamm*t, f*ck, m*therf*cker, piece of sh*t … Etc… good on you Ray 👌👍

  3. I know this is all done by now.. But in my experience with this process of engine and transmission removal from Ford, Chevy, Dodge etc.. It is WAY EASIER to pull the front "bumper", front clip and then pull the engine, and THEN RAISE THE TRUCK to easily drop the transmission out. AND change the cab mount bolts too.

  4. If u care, GM still services the longer battery cable attachment bolts. The 3 i had i used on my 99 GMC 3500 SUBURBAN 454 cid when i installed a second battery. Somehow my notes on that install have either been eaten by the doggies or loaned and not returned by my good friend. So I cant give u the part number. Also the aftermarket look alike bolts will rust very quicklly even in Florida!

  5. After watching you I really wish I had my own shop with lifts and all of the tools. I actually have all of the tools with the exception of the following: a shop, a lift, an A/C recovery unit, an Oil recovery unit, a forklift, a scanner with electrical schematics and something that tells me where the electrical connecters are physically located at in the vehicle. Maybe I will win the lottery someday and be able to have these things. At any rate I love watching your You tube video clips. I do actually accomplish some DIY projects watching your videos.
    Thankyou :}

  6. I understand that you are saving by rebuilding vs buying new or used. How much did that trans and engine actually cost? I also know you had to rebuild the suspension system, I wonder how much that cost. I ask because I have a small pickup, Mazda B 3000 and I am thinking of rebuilding it. Can you tell us how much this all cost without time for labor ?

  7. My truck is nowhere near as big as yours. But similar mindset. Mine is a 2016 Colorado with a 2.8 L Duramax. Paid off, never had a single check engine code. Just passed into the quarter million club. I'll drive that sucker until it literally falls apart on me or gets totaled. I paid 24,000 for it and it is definitely one of my better purchases in life.

  8. Great job Ray. I replaced my 2005 LLY turbo a few years back. Took me two days. I didn't remove the cab, but i did lose a pound of flesh from my forearms! Thosd damn firewall screws don't need to be 6" long!

  9. While you got it down to the bare chassis id hit it with some rustoleum rust reformer and the tannins will turn the rust black and neutralize it. Then spray it with some bed liner man and it'll probably never rust again.

  10. American transmissions lol what a joke of a company. I got a customers ford ranger sitting in my yard right now because i have installed no less than 7 transmissions from this company all within 6 months. Most of them didn’t make it 10 miles from my shop. The last one maybe made it 75 miles before it screwed up. I will never buy anything else from them ever again.

  11. I completely agree! I have a 2002 silverado 1500 with a 5,3 V8 that has 200,000 miles on it that I bought new. I have saved about $70,000 in payments. This truck has beem well maintained and is like new. It has had only minor repairs and I do not want to have to buy a new one!

  12. A Pandora's Box! When it comes to wiring, taking photos helps when reassembling even when I think I'll remember where everything goes because when the time comes, I've definitely forgotten! 🤔
