  1. 2015 1.6 GDI Soul installed an oil catch can when I changed pcv valve. Supposed to help keep valves cleaner cuz they don't have fuel going past them, but just oil from pcv

  2. I'm so glad to know that one of the tests for a stuck PCV valve is the same one on my first car which was a 67 Lincoln-pull it and see if it rattles.

  3. The guy got off cheap would you just cleaning the PTV valve and being honest about it he could have sprung for an engine cleaning service it would have helped the car bunch sometimes you know pennywise and pound foolish even so he would have been money ahead versus getting a fuel pump installed I guarantee it have a good day bye

  4. GM 3.6l V6 alloytec motors were notorious for having undersized holes in the right side PCV valve that would gunk up. Once clogged, this would create issues with the timing chain tensioners, and of course the timing chains. They changed the hole sizes in late 2014. Prior to that, people in the know would drill the 2 bottom holes out to 5/32" and the top hole to 7/32"

  5. I really appreciate the thorough cleaning you gave that PCV, but I doubt the customer would mind if you replaced that $5 item with a new one.

  6. Ok 🤷 apparently I have a higher level of OCD than you have displayed in so many vids 😅…I was and am, highly annoyed that you didn't aligned that valve cover tubing with it's seating 😑

  7. I don't blame the customer – I had a cleaning done a few years ago on an 05 Corolla after a diag – $500 job, did not come close to fixing the issue. Done right a cleaning may work but I am jaded now – next time I will just dump a can of Sea Foam in!

  8. My experience with cleaned PCV valves is they need replacing within a couple of thousand miles anyway. The carbon buildup accelerates corrosion on the spring and the spring now exposed again soon breaks.

  9. I thought I read somewhere that modern gas has so many new cleaning agents in it that carbon build up was never a problem. That seems to be obviously wrong.
