Thanks to Jesse for making the intro and graphic for us to enjoy!!

Again, why didn't you break out the brake cleaner? It's sooo fun when you do.
Btw,I really need to get a life.
I powerwash my engines before I start the job. Why take a chance you’re going to create a misfire? All of that water might get down into the spark plug tubes, later on it might misfire.
The only thing i have a complete about is rainman Ray throwing brakeclean cane's in the shop it's not a good practice to do shoued the can hit something that could be dangerous to outher impoleys
Ray…I'm mid 50s I recently got my first jeep renegade a 17 with the 1.3 turbo it is a 6 speed manual. So far so good it runs great it's got 87k but as far as electrical it's the most sensitive vehicle I've ever owned….fiat do better!!!
Ignore the complainer Ray. I reckon more people would find that rebuild fascinating, like I do. No matter who owns it!
That gold plated wrench comment seriously confused me. I mean i got mine at hobo freight. Why would you be selling it?
Why is it that when you spray off the oil dripidge on the sump cover ,that you only seem to do half of the job, leaving crud on the rest of the sump,it's not a good look ,Ray.. those spray cans can't be that dear that you need to scrimp and save on spraying ,do the whole sump case ,then you can truly say ,its nice and shiny .🤔ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‰ðŸ˜‰ðŸ™‚🙂
Dave is as smart as you man
Would a parts cleaner machine be a bit cheaper?
The reason why they would design that gasket/windage try to be bolted to the main caps like that is simple. it's because engineers never actually work on the cars they design so they have ZERO clue what it's like to have to repair them. This is why I honestly believe that before you can become an automotive engineer you should have to become an auto tech for at LEAST 2 full years so you can understand the pain you'll be forcing others to endure.
Ray was in fact mistaken to say "Bear with me, folks!".
Bear is in the bedroom. Right, Bear?
– Hmmhmm!!
See? Proved it.
The pan glued to the gasket/guard, glued to the block, been there, done that, flat scraper and utility blade all the way around makes for no warped and destroyed pan.
Do you not have a parts cleaner tub?
Dont you guys use parts washers down there?
the cry cuz it’s america first world problems
Ray be the mechanic and stop with the stupid jokes. Hammer, Rodney. If it were funny I’d laugh but it just not. You’re not funny constantly repeating the same things. Gravity, Click. Think of new zingers Ray.
That’s a windage tray to minimize oil sloshing
So you changed a whole PCV valve because of leak causing high idle, and only after changing it, you discovered a massive hole in the PCV tube? So how did you verify the valve is bad? Did you charge for replacing a good valve that has just a blown tube?
Ray I think you done a splendid job your the man😊
Dude that looks almost as bad as the 2006 trailblazer ss
First, you have to wonder what the evolution process was that led to this dumb oem design.
Secondly, I don't want to criticize, but when you put the 4 bolts in as guides in the outer holes to ensure that the inner bolts were lined up correctly, you shouldn't have tightened any of the outer bolts until all 4 were in place and it was correctly centered.
😅The fact that you had to forcefully push the 4th hole into place, would lead me to wonder how easily that hole would line up when you installed the actual pan later.
That being said, I have enjoyed your videos and how you show it more like an unedited video blog instead of cutting out all of the trial and error moments that we all gave from time to time doing this work.
Clearly not a mechanic here,,, the oil pick up tube had to be carefully bolted into the engine block… if the seal leaked, wouldn’t it simply fall into the oil pan?
Dave is selling diesel fuel additive not engine oil additive. Big difference. Oil additives ARE snake oil and fuel additives do actually work. Been proven over and over again from guys like Lake Speed Jr (The Motor Oil Geek) in controlled lab tests
Weapon of flash destruction.
Every time I order Felpro gaskets (or other "premium" sets) my heart screams at the price. BUT, then when I am done and it all goes smooth , no leaks no slipped gaskets… Thats satisfaction.
If its important , or for my kids I use them quite alot im finding. Where as for my daily driver/crusty whip, Im kinda cheap and will just apply silicone/ sealant gaskets. I know i can fix it easily myself with a few minutes time and a tube of RTV or The Good Black or gray fuel / oil pan sealent. I hate the cleanup though when rebuilding. You have to get out the razor blades and a plastic or aluminum scraper to get all the old concrete like sealer off to good metal again. So I guess you pay after anyway. Best wishes RAY. And , sometime do an engine build. Even if its a B20A or a K24, or gasp an iron Duke wheeeze master deluxe. With a basic halteck or holley Efi so you could pull several episodes from it …Install it in a stripped Colorado with a decent transmission.
hint hint…just sayin. Maybe some fun, and some $$ while you get to play too. One day anyway Ray, give it a thought. I think it would work and get views as a side line update once and awhile.
I think what you're doing with your truck is awesome 👌
I swear they make the gasket look like that on purpose. Some engineer made it that was so in their minds eye, they know that in every single one of those vehicles, there's a robot face that is crying oil…
I'm confused can someone clarify for me, I was always told not to change or mess with the transmission oil on new and old cars because it'll mess up your transmission? Am I supposed to be changing it and putting in additives?
Ray I just tried to order 2 of your world famous ratchets but it won't allow me as I live in the UK and there are no shipping methods available. Come on now ray there is a world outside of the The U.S.ofA. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
you do you to hell with everyone else
I have a friend soon to be and ex friend because he's always negative thinking I can't do anything to fix nothing. So I stopped telling him my plans until after it's don't and still complaining about work it's to ugly I. Could of paid someone to do the job for me
I never listing to negative people. They are so so jealous of you, that u can do what u do. Just laugh it off and move on don't look back. don't sweat 😰 on small commits. 😊😊😊😊 ur doing a great job ray
No love for Model Train Channels? LOL! Just kidding. I've been watching a lot of your channel this weekend. Always find it interesting. Was the "Check Engine" light while pulling out due to the hose missing?
Add 5w30 instead, the engine will thank you, especially in hot places like Florida.
Nahh Ray there's plenty of us here happy to see what you give us without doubt those of us know we're not getting a load of bs from you.
LOL, complaining about informative and complex content in your channel is just dumb. It makes no difference that it happens to be your personal vehicle. I bet this guy wouldn't like Andrew Camarata, Diesel Creek, Scrappy Industries, Salvage Workshop, Mustie1, Pacific Northwest Hillbilly, Farmcraft etc etc ad infinitum. Most of their fixing is on their own equipment. Anyway, I love the Silverado work! It's an awesome truck that's going to be even more awesome. I can't wait for the "Put it all back together.. Hey! what are all these extra parts and fasteners for?
I see the last shop that did a/c service on that truck neglected to put the dust caps back on the service ports. Are those shops just lazy or what? If I take my car in for service I like to leave with all the parts/covers installed that I brought in.
Do you have any history of longevity of the transmission after a flush like that? I've heard that flushing an older trans that hasn't been flushed periodically tends to cause slipping or check ball clogs.
Bro I know it sux but telling the customer you need to clean that engine b4 you tool around on it will save you a headache in the long run….
winter products for florida? that is hilarious 😂😂😂
Honest to goodness the complainers need to go elsewhere. If they think they can do better, they need to create their own content. I found this most impressive and informative. Another of your videos also made me rethink my repair strategy. I’ve got a great local mechanic who I’m going to start taking my out of warranty vehicle to on a regular basis.
boring ass video
Thank god for 1/4 stuff with jobs like this
Merry Christmas to you and your family from Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦. Dec 23rd watching this 😅
Getting wet??? Hurricanes come to mind……
Jeep grand jerky
Did you find the drywall screw that came out of the PCV hose?
I love your comment about Dodge guys liking it from both directions.
