  1. Beautiful home, hidden in the brush. What a prize. That walkway was really nice too. What an incredible summer we had in WNY to do this kinda work. Fun to watch.

  2. I must comment on a beautiful video that captures the beauty of a rural property and the hard work required to keep it up !! If only every child had the opportunity to experience what a traditional farm has to offer !! I'm 65 and the pictures of your farm and the old internationals bring back fond memories of working on nearby farms as a teenager .of course, we didn't understand the amount of stress and hard work that the farm family must have endured as it became hard to hold on to the small farm. There was alot of opportunity after ww2 for the average American and many took advantage of those opportunities!! Unfortunately, we have seen many changes in the last 50 yrs.that hurt the small farmer and have got us where we are today !! It is still very nice to see a farm like yours knowing that it may continue in future generations !! Thanks for quqlity video !! All the best to you and your families

  3. Don't see too many backhoes(tlb) being hauled on construction/landscape trailers here in pa. It appears the excavator/trackhoe has won out and it's easy to see why with that full swing ability !! Backhoes are certainly still very useful but not as versatile as the trackhoe in my opinion!!

  4. As you get older it's hard to take care of that stuff. And if you don't take care of it it's gets out of hand and the only thing is to get rid of it. I live in the country and like 35 years ago my next door neighbor build a line of pine trees and other small brush that is not small. Besides that they planted it about a foot to right on the line. When they started doing it I said you are planting that stuff on my side of the property line. Since you want to plant you should have it surveyed . I even called the sheriff's office and they said they would tell them. Did not help i guess. Pine trees that grow 30 foot in dia. They said it was on there side. I told them no you are on my side .I even called the sheriff's office. I know because I had it surveyed twice. The second time I had it surveyed I was there with the surveyed guy and took measurements from a electric pole by the road and in the back yard at the corner of my brick pile which has a concrete pad were I took measurements at the corner of the pad. The surveyed guy asked me why I was doing that as he helped me. I told him the first time it was surveyed the stakes came up missing. He said that's against the law. I said you need a video to show them pulling them off. The one you are putting down show all that stuff they planted was on my side. I had a friend who was going to help me drive 1/4 steel fence post. Was 5 days till he came to the house as we are friends to help me drive them in the ground since am a paraplegic for 50 years now and could not reach the top to drive it in till I could reach it in my wheelchair. The stakes came up missing in 3 days before my buddy got here. My neighbor ask me to come over and help him fixed something and in the corner of there garage was 2 of my surveyed stakes were laying there. First time when I build my house in 1976 then again in 1992 when my wife parents passed away and we bought her sister half off. It is 6 and 1/2 acres and my next door neighbor has about 3/4 of a acre next to mine. I have told her each year you need to trim that stuff so I can mow on that side with my 60 in zero turn mower as it has a swail in it that goes to the ditch just off the road on our side were the ditch is. Last 2 years I call her about it she just hangs up. Will this summer it got so big and some of it was dead from the farmers spraying when its to windy. Now days they spray when they want to istead towards dark when the wind stops blowing. This year I cut the back of my hand and a vein got cut and a scratch up to my elbow with a long sleeve shirt with a hoodie on it. Next week when I came threw there I cut that stuff and threw it back on her side since she thinks it is her's. Next week she was waiting for me and said I was Trespassing. So I got my cell phone out and tried to show her by the platt line all that stuff was mine anyway. All I asked for years if you are going to plant stuff make sure you know were the property line is and use common curtesy. She said I made that up and was screaming the whole time. I said call the cops. I told her about 5 times you don't want to lessen call the cops please. She went in the house the sheriff officer was here in 15 minutes if that. He could seen the problem right away without me saying anything. He asked me when the last time I had it surveyed. I told him I have had it surveyed twice and everytime time they come up missing. Why should I have it surveyed again and they come up missing. He asked her the last time she had it surveyed she said never.
After that she said it hurt to stand and she be in the house….lol I asked the officer if he had a puter in his car and he said yes and I said you can look it up yourself. He said He already done that.He said a surveyed would be better. I said I look it up and for this problem the platt line was plenty good. I told him even if the plant line was a foot in here favor it would still bo 3/4 on my property. Pine trees are on my property a good 10 feet over just laying on the ground cause she can't afford to have them cut. How in hell can she afford to have it surveyed then? I said I also l He said this was a civil case. Which I new this. She is the one that messed this up and her late husband not me. I told the officer I told them they were planting that on my land. The farmer years ago who farm mine at the time which he bought the 20 acres on her other side was cleaning up all the trees on it asked me if he could cut my side since he was doing what he owned and my line of trees were on my side but hanging down. I said I used to farm and that stuff is just in the way for the big equipment they used. I said sure cut it down. He said it was on my land and I said it still is in the way. He said asked your wife and I'll be back next week.MY wife at the time now my ex said no. I told her its just in the way and woodchucks eat at least close to 1 acre on the side of my property. He came and I told him my wife has a bug up her ass and said no. He understood and told me the next door neighbor has a big maple tress that is 3/4 on his side of his land. I said if you own it cut it down. He cut it down as he was on the township board. He cut it down the the neighbor bitch but nothing came of it. I said to the officer I want it in writing that she has to ask permission from year to year and if she does not she cannot use my property to get to there's. She will have to have some pins tree cut down and since it is so small i don't think the framer can get his equipment in there. The officer was done with me and said he talk to her. He was inside her house for 30 minutes and all that has happened her son came over and cut on my side and rather haul in back to her brush pile he just stuck it between the others. I knew he do that. He is a lazy ass can't walk it back 50 yards to her brush pile……lol

  5. I sure could use that excavator to clear the wilderness I let grow in my suburban back yard, lol It must feel good to get control of your schedule and chores again 🙂

  6. As beautiful as the wood is I am not a fan. The juglone. From the black walnut won’t let many vegetables and flowers grow! Up to 500 feet away the ground is still affected by the poison emitted from the black walnut!
    Place looks great! Beautiful home

  7. my flower beds were actually looking their best when my kids were little and i had less time. Being outside and keeping an eye on them let me tend the beds. As the kids got older, i spent more time in the field and less in the yard. Now my plantings could use the excavator make over.

  8. ❤ Wow your farmhouse looks beautiful and now that you taking the stuff out it still looks beautiful but that's a lot of work ❤❤

  9. Just a fyi, 'Wine and Roses' is a variety of weigelia. You made that raised bed to last! Couldn't beat the machinery though. 🙂 The old adage is right, many hands make light work. Love the teamwork! Love what you two managed to do. Looks great!

  10. New subscriber. Looking forward to your channel and journey. God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻 ✨️ 📿 📖 🎣 ✝️🌶🌮

  11. I cant imagine how you two take care of everything the way you do. My wife and I cant seem to knock down a few dishes sometimes. Life is so chaotic. Blessings from California!

  12. Believe it or not this was so encouraging I thought I was the only one neglecting flower beds for a thriving garden and house renovations. It cleaned up beautifully

  13. Less is definitely more as we get older. I did the same thing starting about 4 year ago and I'm so happy with the results today. Very little maintenance and watering is a breeze.

  14. On a farm the crops and animals usually take priority. Often this takes away from things like the house, flower beds, garden, mowing. A great job of taking back around the house. I looks lovely.

  15. I'm in the same boat as you are. Farm work, hay, and animal care take priority over landscaping. Add a full time job and owning another business and we are never lacking for things to do. Trying to keep burmuda grass and weeds out of iris beds in almost impossible! Thanks for sharing and letting me know that I'm not the only one in this boat.
