Finishing Up the Rear Powertrain | Farmall Super C Restoration

It’s time to get the rear powertrain finished! In this video, I assemble and install the PTO/belt pulley unit, do some final work in the transmission, and install the transmission cover. Now it’s time to move on to rebuilding the engine!

  2. Hi Pete. Long time listener, first time caller. My super C has a knock coming from either the transmission or the universal joint. What happened is I took off in 4th gear instead of 2nd. Engine died when I let out the clutch. Ever since then it has had this knock and I’ve been afraid to drive it for fear of doing more extensive damage.
Need some advice on how to begin inspecting the damage. Should I begin by splitting the tractor or removing the transmission cover? Appreciate any advice you are willing to share. Thanks so much!

  3. Spent 5 hours pulling a "removeable" 1" x 8" pin out of the snap coupling on my allis chalmers d-14 free barn find. Same deal – this was supposed to take 5 minutes to pull off the tractor. Weather, water and 30 years under a lien-too changed my day.

  4. Hi Pete, every morning I injoy my coffee ☕ and watching your videos, I do this every morning and injoy all of your video's, your doing such a grate job on the super C it looks absolutely perfect keep up the good work you and your family have a grate day.

  5. I think it was for sure a worthwhile endeavor to rebuild the tractor after seeing just the PTO! When you finish up you'll have confidence in your machine and it will last forever! Nice job !

  6. These videos are wealth of knowledge and it’s very impressive how he explains things. Pete is an engineer and a teacher and a farmer and a cattle rancher and and

  7. Pete – This comment has nothing to do with this video. But I know you aren't able to respond to e-mails, so I thought I'd ask here. I'm attempting to build my own headgate for Dexter-sized cattle. I know you have what looks to be standard Priefert headgate. Do you find you have problems with what I assume is a standard size headgate, or sometimes wish you had a smaller headgate? If so, how much shorter would you recommend?

  8. I would completely loose half the bolts and small parts. It would be an empty shell lawn ornament if I put it together. I can take maybe 1 complicated part apart at a time before I run out of RAM and have to reboot the thinker.
