What kind of cord wire can be used
this is awsome, let's hope it comes to Samsung and replaces dex (hopefully)
Does this work on pixel 6 pro?
Big question.
Can it support external dual display?
I just diwnlaod 16beta in my pixel 7, does it work in that?
Why my pixel 9 pro XL A16 beta4 didn't see the function ?????
I'm just surprised the USB-C plug actually stayed in the bottom of the phone. They seem to wear out so easily on the Pixels. Hopefully, they can do Android Desktop wireless while my phone sits on my angled wireless phone charger on my desk.
Samsung dex can be wireless though no? This better also have a wireless option
My Poco F5 can't even out HDMI signal
I'll stick with dex mode.
Android Adds Stars🤩 in the ecosystem after adding this feature.
Samsung has had DeX ,, a desktop like screen environment,, plug a Samsung phone into a monitor or TV with Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse
Motorola has a similar environment called " Ready for "
.
Samsung and Motorola have been doing this for some while so it must be possible Google as usual a trailing behind the competition
So you can use a USBC to USBC cable. With my current pixel 9 Pro XL I can only use USBC to HDMI.
Imagine PixelOS and GrapheneOS with full Desktop mode 🤤
If you consider every AOSP OS a Linux distro, this could be the future of Linux desktop.
hope all android can do it external display, make next only with smartphone can use all, just external display make it PC desktop, this can because now SoC in smartphone is powerfull
It's about damn time.
I left the pixel line for a Lenovo ThinkPhone because it didn't have a proper desktop mode. If Google develops it, I'll come back.
I can hardly see anything.
Can't see anything on windows screen .u should have kept the PC screen little higher
Thanks for sharing, but what about the display resolution? Right now it sticks to 1080p, will it support 1440P or even 4k? I would probably switch to the beta if that is possible.
how did you accomplished this?
Nice feature, but what about overheating issues with samsung Dex
i have been waiting for these changes like forever😢😢. i even sent an email to Samsung via their Members app to get rid of the black bars displayed on the monitor when i connect my samsung tab s8 to my monitor via a USB-C to HDMI connection. I also asked that they add a rounded pointer (like on the iPad) when an external mouse/trackpad is connected. Samsung makes me cry literally..😢😢😢😢
Oh thats dope!! I can see this as an improvement to Samsung's new Dex experience, if they were to allow for multiple displays
Damn this is dope, hopefully they unleash it during the Pixel 10 launch, would be amazing on the Pixel Fold.
No floating windows for Android apps yet?
Are they bringing chromeOS features to the Android now?
PC like is not PC. Its crap
I want android windows ecosystem as like Mac iOS
Good initiative
Been waiting SOoooo long for this, thanks for continuing to update on it
It's this in Android 16? Or 15 QPR2?
Edit: nvm I re watched the video, it's 16
Why they're reinventing the wheel when DeX already does pretty much all of these things and has for years, is baffling. The biggest thing missing from Android that iPad OS does is the ability to explicity drag an app window from the host device display to the external display (not toggle a "switch").
android PC + Snapdragon X Series 🚀 🚀 🚀 â¤ï¸
I can see myself getting a Nexdock or something similar if Google can at least bring AOSP external display functionality to the level of a DeX not even Windows.
Otherwise $299 for the Nexdock is a harder proposition to swallow but thanks for the video. It's good that progress is being made in this area, I just wish it would happen quicker. I feel like the last few years with each new version of Android, these snippets of progress are being found and highlighted but in totality the final product is nowhere near there yet.
That looks dope and useful
