In this video I am working on a 2012 ford Focus with under 30k miles on it and it has a failed A/C compressor clutch bearing. The entire kit is available from Ford for a reasonable price. Let’s see how it fits! -Enjoy!

I know this is a longshot but – I've got a 2010 focus I'm doing the exact same thing. The compressor placement is farther up. Should I try to lower the engine, unbolt the compressor or is there another way?
WARNING WARNING âš ï¸
Do not remove the small snap ring inside the compressor spline!! I did and refrigerant exploded in my face!! Thankfully I'm ok. Entire system depressurized.
Also you need a three claw pulley removal tool. Ain't no way the pulley is coming out with hands, Eric got lucky.
Also, get a full set of snap ring pliers. Them things are a pain in the A$$.
can you post the part?
I'm about to do my first compressor clutch. Does the kit tell you what the air gap is supposed to be, or is that vehicle-specific?
lol, rocket surgery.
Gracias al traductor lo entendà 🥹 exelente video
Don't like stretchy belts. This job looks pretty easy on the sceam of things. I just replaced my F150 clutch, but in the process, the front seal blew out, so I only had cool air about 4 minutes. Now I have to get a compressor! MY NEIGHBORHOOD SHOP QUOTED ME $2800 BUCKS FOR THE FUSION. They insisted I replace EVERYTHING so that was the only way they could warranty it!
No boat payment for that guy!
Can I get the parts number please
Always hate those plier type Snap Ring Pliers. I aleas use the KD Snap Ring tool with the screw handle. Easier to use and would hold the snap ring open until you released it. Had both light and heavy duty versions. Still have two of each in a couple of my mobile work boxes.
To remove those stretchy belts, the best tool is a piece of folded up card. You just want to wedge it in there to get the belt over the side ridge and then pull as you rotate, it works a lot better than those awful belt removers and if you have a newish belt then you have a lower risk of damaging it. Putting one back on is also possible using the same method.
Does anyone know the part number
What do you do when the pully comes off but the bearing stays behind?
Thanks!
Thank youðŸ»
TODO IVA MUY BIEN HASTA QUE EMPEZO A GOLPEAR LOS COMPONENTES DEL COMPRESOR Y NO UTILIZO NI SELLADOR DE ROSCAS Y MENOS EL TORQUIMETRO, ESO ES UNA DE LOS CAUSANTES QUE ORIGINA ESTE TIPO DE FALLAS EN LOS VEHICULOS…….
At least with stretchy belts there is no tensioner to fail.
Question. Is there a one adequate reason why not replace the 3$ bearing instead of going tbrough all this nonsense?
Ford snap rings are ze best snap rings
Anyone know what the specs / bearing identifier on the bearing is for those of us who hate ourselves and want to just replace the bearing?
Please help? What is the part number of the ac compressor bearing for a Volvo s60 2001 model? (Just the part number of the Bearing please?)

Do you happen to have any other videos on a/c repair? I have this exact car. A/C clutch does not engage when you click the button 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™‚ï¸ trying to trouble shoot it. I appreciate you brother!
Not bad âš¡ï¸
Thank you for not skipping the hard parts.
Would a 2011 focus be the same as far as access to the ac compressor for replacement of the clutch, or is it not designed to be accessed through the wheel well? Thank you in advance. I'm getting ready to tear into one and your video was great.
Nice tric
great Video!
I have to do this same job on my car
Great video on the breakdown and reinstall
Great video thank you sir.
So, the spacer is just a normal washer correct? It is not a washer that goes on the exterior bolt when you tighten it correct? Just want to make sure because. I diassembled my clutch like 2 years ago intending to fix it , but instead ended up using another compressor. I took my car to at least ten different shops and people, with all of them telling me it was the compressor or the clutch, and it ended up being a hole in a hose, which I pointed out to each one because I heard hissing when putting in freon. Kept being told it had to do with the clutch and wouldnt be a hose. I ended up replacing the hose but using the replacement compressor because I didnt want to press my luck and break something. Only problem is the replacement compressor is noisy , my wife is sick of the noise, so in going to attempt to put the original compressor back on.
Thx a lot . I have a Ford Focus CMax from 2004 and i cant find anything , how i get of the belt to the ac compressor . Greetings from Germany ðŸ‘
Genuine Motorcraft, straight from Wuhan. I would think that the felt washer should be impregnated with oil and put on the shaft in the right place to lube between moving parts?
