  1. I'm going to hazard a guess that was due to a mosfet shorting in an ON position. Chances are it can be easily fixed once the failed mosfet package is diagnosed. Had to replace these on 3D printer mainboards in the past and when a mosfet fails I NEVER want them to fail locked ON. bad things tend to happen.

  2. Soooo…QUESTION…was the problem solved?? Is the pump motor still on full time??

How much was that cluster of modules and boards??? Does he still need his special wire??

  3. My 2010 Silverado 2500 also has a printed circuit board integral to the fuse block. I had to replace the fuse block because lights were staying on all the time, which drains the battery. I opted for the $50 salvage yard part.

  4. I would have verified with another relay to make sure it was not the relay stuck closed before replacing the entire fuse box even though the box fixed the problem it might have been just a faulty relay. Not sure if you checked that off camera or not.

  5. On a Saturn I had around a decade ago, I had no low beams.
I traced the problem to an open somewhere in the fuse block, but instead of replacing the fuse block, I sacrificed my daytime running lights with a couple of jumper wires.

  6. Your video that came out on 2-20-2025-Customer States: Check Engine Light | Wild Goose Chase states that it is "Members Only". Do we have to start paying to see your videos>

  7. .. so yeah Ray…had to replace the same fuse block…same model, Ram 5.7…just among other problems !! So you ask, what did I do ?! I sold the pos & picked up a nice low miles Tundra 💖

  8. NEVER set a circuit board on a piece of metal like a workbench top. Put a piece of cardboard on the metal so the pins from the circuit board don't touch the metal. I have seen mechanics blow perfectly good circuit boards when the pins shorted out a capacitor on the circuit board.

  9. I would think if I were the customer and paid for a new circuit board, that I would get to keep the fuses on the old circuit board since it was my board. For the future when I might need new fuses. Just sayin.

  10. Some of the things, relays or whatever did not match the board you took out. I wish you would have shown us the old board and the new board together. Like you usually do to see if the parts match. I know you probably see them all the time and know, but I would have liked to see. And where there were empty fuse areas, the had fuses in the new one.

  11. When i replaced my TIPM in my 2011 Ram 1500, i had to make sure all the relays/fuses were pushed all the way in, didn't figure any of that out till I got a dash full of codes after installation.

  12. Mine failed, no power to fuel pump, so I installed the temp bypass. Worked well until the temp dropped to -25c (-13f) engine would start, run for only a second or two then shut down. Installed the external relay kit, it now starts at -30c (-22f) no problem.
Too bad they used board mounted relays at all, the modular relays are super easy to service.

  13. When the fuel pump in my 2004 expedition would RANDOMLY shut off (which took me a while to diagnose because the engine would just shut off with no warning and no codes whatsoever) I found out that Ford put the fuel pump relay in the middle of the fuse box (f.u.k.m. ) I purchased a complete unit that came complete with external relays and fuses. I was shocked how cheap and easy the repair was!

  14. That is what they call an add a circuit wire, I used them many times for car stereos and amps. Worked for what he did, but all he had to do was find a different circuit that would only have power with the ignition on. Good fix for the right way to do it. $$$

  15. A lot of Chrysler-Jeep-Ram products had a recall for a bad TIPM related to the fuel pump circuit. The fix was to install an external fuel pump relay zip tied to the TIPM. It worked on my 2012 Grand Cherokee.

  16. That smaller relay along the edge of that board was the fuel pump relay. They're about 10 bucks online, less than 5 dollars each if you buy 4 at a time. Easy to change with basic soldering tools. Should have went for it, nothing to loose.

  17. 28:30 – Ok, so my other comment notwithstanding, my pops has a '10 Caliber. The radiator fans quit. The problem? Fan relays in the TIPM. Grr.

So he went around it, put a relay on the core support, wired it up to key on, and now the fans work if the key is on all the time. No, it's not optimally cooling to a certain temperature, turning fans on and off as needed, but now the A/C works and that's the important part. :p Screw that TIPM, need fans on.

  18. Way not a Chrysler guy due to this one damn thing, period. TIPMs were one of the dumbest ideas Chrysler has ever come up with. Unless the idea was to sell TIPMs, then it's brilliant. Unless the idea was to piss people off and not buy Chrysler, then it's dumb.<- I am here.

You don't integrate relays like that at the fuse box. You just… don't. You make them replaceable. I'm more apt to buy a car if it's serviceable/fixable until I can, you know, BUY ANOTHER ONE. But if I gotta spend a crapton of money to replace a FREAKING RELAY… what the entire hell. And I'm disinterested in your makes anymore. The fact this had to be done at <40K miles is beyond irritating to me and it's not even my car. 😐

You… you might say I don't much care for the idea of TIPMs…

  19. I had the TIPM in my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan fail in the fuel pump relay. I got a bypass kit, but then the fan relay went out so I shipped it out for rebuild. Still had a fan code so I got a used one with the identical part number and a build date with two weeks of my original.

Worked without programming on the minivans. I’m going to check out fixing the original and putting it back.

Eric O. rebuilt a TIPM a few years ago on his channel 😉

  20. @Ray, I hope you saw the clip I send you in an earlier video, it is about wrenches, one company made a wrench that needs almost a millimeter space to make it turn, I hope you saw that because when I saw it I immediately had to think of you. Have a nice day!

  21. i dont agree with you keeping all the old fuses, they are the car owners. If it were me i would want them as my own spares, especially since the car has already had fuse issues.
