  1. I need some help. I purchased a brand new 2026 Silverado ZR2 with a 6.2 engine on September 26, 2025. 470 miles later my third time driving it left me stranded on the side of the road. It was towed to the dealership. I was told there was a misfire on cylinder number eight however going on five days now and they still haven’t found a solution. They are basically tearing my engine apart and testing things. I have met with the manager, the store general manager and even filed a claim with GM and I’m getting no help. I have stressed that I do not feel safe with the vehicle or taking it back and evidently GM hasn’t found a solution for the 6.2 engine. I’m in North Carolina and the lemon law is always in favor of the dealership instead of the consumer and I will have to wait 30 days if it’s in the shop that long to pursue lemon law. I’ve asked to have the vehicle swapped out. The dealer had me test drive another truck to see if I liked it then they set me down and put a piece of paper in front of me showing they were allowing me almost $13,000 less than they sold me the truck for six days earlier. Long story short I showed my ass and left. Any advice would be appreciated

  2. i'm only reading between the lines from what I'm told and what I read but I cannot believe that engine builders would bridge crankshafts and use lighter oil to increase efficiency. All this has been tried I'm sure and an Amazon monkey could tell them they were in for trouble. The whole industry has taken the last drop from the lemon so far as the internal combustion engine [I.C.E.] goes. They should know that. They are going the wrong way and from what I can see there isn't anything in this wide world going to make them admit it..My friend designed and built the lowest emission engine in the world over fifty years ago. Took it to America demonstrated it successfully to Senators and vehicle builders. Did they want it? No. Why not? The reduction in air pollution could have been possibly 80% but the carmakers didn't see a problem. Only that you have the E.P.A. Americans would be living in a fog. The low emission engine my friend built was a steamer. Cheap to build, low emission, reliable, Has a simple steam generator , no transmission, compact low friction engine, can burn liquids, high flashpoint fuel, solids gases, residuals cleanly and doesn't need premium fuel. The I.C.E. four cycle engine gives one power stroke per two revs., the steamer four. And no oil changes. I can fill the Mitchell Library with this stuff but there are none so blind as those who don't want to see. Ted Pritchard was the only one to take on the vehicle industry because he knew what he was talking about. If an overseas mfr. takes that engine up the good old American boys are headed for the poor house. They had their chance.

  3. Wasnt even close to a million! Ford has had at least two separate engine failure events in recent models, impacting tens of thousands of vehicles and leading to recalls for EcoBoost engine valves and connecting rod/rod bearing issues. Ford also uses the same crap 0-20w oil!

  4. I just got a 2023 GMC SIERRA DENALI with 45000 miles. I did not know about the recall until i heard it on the news. I found out that the vehicle have been taken cause of the recall so it is showing complete but the oil. Filter and oil cap did not get changed. Not sure what to do now. A Dealership will not do anything cause it is showing complete.

  5. As a master technician I always recommend to the customers to follow the manufacturer guidelines that being said I also tell them that if it were my vehicle I would cut 1500 miles off the oil change recommendation and go up one oil weight so if they are running 0w20 I would say 0w40 or 5w30, the reason is better viscosity at higher temperatures but the drawback is the oil breaks down faster the higher the weight but because of the higher viscosity the less chance for mechanical damage at first start up and under load at high rpm’s, both are the most detrimental to your engine, the reason I only recommend one weight grade up is because 1 newer vehicles are smart and will tell on you and that WILL void the warranty, some newer vehicles will log it as p1521 improper engine oil type, remember the manufacturer and the technician is trying to get out of the warranty claim so they are looking for any reason to deny the warranty claim, 2 because of the sensitivity of the modern vvt system or variable valve timing system, these systems use oil pressure/known oil viscosity to adjust the timing on your engine hundreds to thousands of times every minute and it knows that for this specific adjustment that it will need to activate the control solenoid for this amount of time to move forward (advance) the vvt sprocket changing the timing and if it does not see the result it needs then the system starts to over adjust or under adjust and over time the system breaks down, hope that helps.

  6. That Ranger truck needs a head gasket turn it off pump check the sump exactly find him a new engine. The heads can’t be rebuilt. They need new ones or reconditioned heads.

  7. GM has been skating on thin ice for a while, and now it's caught up with them. Now it's costing them big time.😮
When you listen to the epa and let them tell you what you're going to do about oil & emissions??? Why the hell is the epa regulating the thinner oil and costing the car makers millions??? I have a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 3.6L and it had the 0-5-20. So, after watching a couple of videos I went with what they used back in the year 2000 with 5W-30 full synthetic and boy my valve train loves it and purrs like a kitten 😊
