In this video I have a look at a customers 2008 GMC Yukon Denali with the big 6.2 that has a stalling issue. The vehicle will run for a little while, then it quits and will no longer talk to the scan tool or start!

What color of wires u cut off and tied together?? Whant to do the same on my truck
Proper diagnosis is worth its weight in gold, not just in automotive but with most things in life. Thanks for showing how to do it properly!!
just referred to this video to help a buddy diagnose a 09 silverado… his turned out to be the ABS module and its just unplugged and the connector protected with a baggie for the weekend to get him by till he can get to Wilburts…. 🙂
I remember when cars didn’t have can buses. Just a heater blower, am radio, hand brake lever, throttle cable, window winders, a spare wheel and a hand crank in case the battery went flat. They were the days 😊

Good job, you used logic
Love this guy!
Hi. What Computer tester do you use??
You are thorough teacher my friend. Thanks for your efforts
Maybe this will help someone… 07 yukon with 5.3. No crank no start. Guages went crazy then truck was dead. Started looking for wiring issues. Found a LOT of them. 1st thing i saw was destroyed wiring lesding to rear brake lights. Repaired (solder and shrink tube) and she fired right up. Brake light wires killed the entire truck! Start by checking wires for damage before launching the parts canon. Step 2…come watch this man and his amazing content. Hes my goto source for vehicle diagnosis
That was a great video. I have a problem with my 08 Chevy Tahoe LS. It's a PPV TAHOE . My mom bought the truck thinking she got a great deal. I saw it for the first time and saw it was wrecked. So I took it off her hands and gave her my envoy. So I started to fix it up 12.000 in have a pretty good truck. Still room for improvement. The problem. The dash cluster went out. Got a reman cluster and took it to our local Chevy house got it flashed and was happy. Went home that night got it ready to change the oil. Went to start it. Battery was dead. Thought the battery went bad I had another one put it in finished the oil change. Came back out 2hrs later it was dead again. So charge the battery. Started it and checked to see if alt went bad. Was driving awhile with a bad cluster. It was charging. So got my test light went from ground lead to battery my test light was glowing. I pulled every fuse and still the test light glowed. It was really glowing. So I got my multi meter out and it had a 8 volt draw. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Hello have a question?
Ok 2004 avalanche 5.3l auto trans running 3,4 weeks ago know dash lightts up but no cycle no start unshure as to what changed any help would be great.
Checked all fuses and jumped checked starter battery charged.
Thanks for doing this video, Eric.
Just watched again, and will say its very helpful to me personally. Have a 2012 suburban thats acting up ( though not as bad) it does start, and only stopped running twice within a few minutes.
Suspect mine is actually in the battery cables, though it did drop all gages just before it quit running
Yes so my code was the po300
I don't know what you're talking about I've been watching some of you videos and that no no start no communication help me immensely my Yukon shuts down at 200 205 and it's been driving me crazy for 6 months
Thanks Eric. Starting to diagnose my daughter's Yukon today. Thought it was just in the range sensor until I hooked up the scan tool and had no comm. Great video.
Instead of taping up the connector, couldn't you have just plugged the module back in?
You are the man! Wish you were the man from around the corner 😂 Truck would be on the hook on route to you. Hate electrical issues so obviously the only ones i seem to get. Zero rust under there. Definitely not from around here. Where can I get these wiring diagrams you are using? Would be a HUGE help. If you have the time, please let me know. Much appreciated
This dude is on the same page means taking up to Rochester and dumping it
Thank you for the effort sir especially since you had idea that the module was bad but still work through it it's got to be tedious for you but it is very helpful for all of us out here I know you've heard it but you need to hear it again.
Entire time he keep saying he needs to put in a 60 ohm resistor; he really means add a 120 ohms resistor right?
because it's a pair of paralleled 120 Ohmsto get a 60 ohm parallel resistance for the two in the bus circuit
I am new to your channel and am a ASE master tech with 60 years experience. I am still working at almost 76 years of age. I really can relate to your show episodes as I live in Northeast Ohio. I really like your content respect your knowledge. We run into a lot of the situations you do. Keep up the good work. I'm spreading the word and have learned a lot already. Thank you!
Please help me
Hey Mr.Eric if I messed up the body module on my 01 buick lesabre will it cause nothing to work when I turn the key just dead
give it to eric and problem fixed
Nice troubleshooting!!!!
I keep watching the repeats, WHY, because I like to and as ever your the man first class. Well done Eric O. 😊
You likely know pretty much all there is to know about automotive networks. They are just a two wire differential (for noise immunity) serial link with 60 ohm terminating resistors on the ends to help control overshoot and undershoot of the rising and falling edges of the ones and zeros. The underside of a vehicle exposed to the road is not a nice place for such a digital buss as this but that puts food on the table. Thanks be to GM for saying "That'll be fine, you'll see".
43:55 With all this whispering in my ear this should be on Eric O After Dark. XD
Where can I get these diagrams because I’m having the exact problem.
