In episode 3 of Windows Games on Linux, I go over how to setup Grand Theft Auto V for Linux. This game requires additional dependencies.

Install DXVK and ms-corefonts or ttf-mscorefonts depending on your distribution.
Note: corefonts has weird licensing and it seems like they package name changes because of Microsoft. This part is required as you need it for the launcher to show up properly.

After both these dependencies are met you need the following:
-Install via steam
-Add the following directory if you get a (Code 9) error in launcher:
–Go to GAME_INSTALL_DIRECTORY/steamapps/compatdata/271590/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/
–Make Directory ‘My Documents’
-Verify Integrity of Game Files
-It will re-download the launcher portion
-Re-launch and login
–Note: you may need to set your resolution and relaunch. It CANNOT dynamically set the resolution
-FINISH!

Disable ESYNC in Steam Launch Profile
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% .
