In the film, Agam is among the Israelis who recount what it was like to live through the Oct. 7 attacks, the deadliest day for Jews since World War II, with around 1,200 people killed and 251 taken hostage. And in Gaza, where more than 40,000 people have reportedly been killed in Israel’s retaliation against Hamas, Palestinians describe — and record — the large-scale devastation.
Through these individual stories, “A Year of War: Israelis and Palestinians,” offers a devastating portrait of the conflict as a whole, and a profound look inside a cycle of violence and tragedy with no end in sight.

  1. PBS doesn't allow comments anymore on its news channel? I wonder what vote they took from their donors, who I regularly donate to this publicly funded organization to stop US citizens and donors from having any opinion on publicly funded stories. Wow, I won't be giving anyone money. This is sad.

  2. This interview is way way different than the first interview with her from December 2023 from channel 12 in Israel. I have posted the link as a reply to this comment.

  3. Absolutely Disgusting how statements change. The last interview she did with her mother she's praising them saying they see women as queens gave her a cute nickname, and now look.
I guess lying is I their blood. It's embarrassing how shamelessly they do it thinking the whole world wouldn't see

  4. She still couldn't say that Hamas was bad. These Israeli hostages always say about feelings. They were not really tortured or terrorized, they only imagined being tortured or being raped. And the dangers and terror were from Israel. Bombing, starving, shooting, medical supplies and electricity cut off… And IDF did shoot Israeli hostages 😂 shouting "Help" in Hebrew with white flags.

  5. Its been called Israel for THOUSANDS of years now in ancient muslim books, artifacts , even stone in Egypt..how is Israel occupying the Palestinians land when its been called Israel thousands of years now in stone and in holy bible

  6. Incredible how she changed her statement. They treated her very well per her testimony and now she's saying whatever the IDF is making her say.

  7. I watched her full interview before her brain washed when she first got released last year and she was happy how they treated her and her mom🤔🤔🤔

  8. I still have the video of her and her mother laughing sharing their experience as Hamas captives where they were treated very well. Stating that women are treated like queens in their captors beliefs. How the captors used towel to wrap their hand while arm wrestled them because in their belief they are forbidden to touch women?

  9. Where is the original interview of her and her mother where they both speak & laugh of being well treated and playing games with Hamas. That Hamas treat women like queens? She got such backlash by Israelis and hate messages that she has now done subsequent interviews whereby it’s clear she has been coached her on what to say!

  10. Agam, let me connect with you too: what would you do if f.e. Palestinian people would colonize your town and keep occupying it that you lose your home? How would you feel if a nation keeps terrorizing your country while the whole world is just standing there and watching and even keeps supporting them with millions of dollars for weapons? What would you do if a nation bombs hospitals, houses and innocent israelian people? What would you do if you would become a refugee because your home was bombed by a nation and you just lost EVERYTHING?

Yes, you will seek vengeance and become part of a resistant group. These days, that’s called terrorism.

  11. Palestinians don't have to imagine Israeli soldiers coming into their houses and kidnapping them to prison – just listen to the veterans in Breaking the Silence group who tell of random night raids in the West Bank and Gaza (before 2006) to terrorize Palestinians. I'm sorry that the Israeli govt lied to this girl and told her they'd keep her safe by dehumanizing, displacing and oppressing millions of her neighbors for 75 years. The chickens always come home to roost.
