  1. I just swapped it on a 2017 V6 and it was a bit easier from the top. Remove the fascia, headlights, cross support bar, and alternator.

  2. Finally someone who shows how to remove the ac compressor from this compartment. Wish I had seen it before starting this project. At least now I know what to do to finally get that compressor out. GM should be fined for having to lower a frame to remove a compressor. And the Hanes manuals are good for wiping your back side when it comes to this year and make.

  3. Ray, I have to ask. Could this have been solved by replacing the Compressor control valve instead of the entire Compressor? You can see that valve at 2:45 connector with Blue Dot. I have been told that the valve can cause a lot of issues with the Compressors function. Easier to replace costs a lot less for the end user.

Still have to purge the system though…

Currently have a 2015 2.4L all of a sudden no air. Power at all the points, fuses, relays, etc. No engaging of clutch, no fan, not accepting Freon. Been told the Valve has a part in all of that.

  4. I bought all the angry Plier sizes available as well As a bunch of other Tools from laser and otc and Oem tools off your angry pliers link Ray I hope the commission helps Brother @Rainman Ray's Repairs

  5. Yes if its shipped without plugs in it send it back dont even install it. Its junk.
The reason is if its air inside it moisture can build up. The vscume won't pull it down or out so then you fill it but water in the system turns to acid and it will eat the metals from the inside out.
Industrial boiler units that work with cooling towers in large buildings cost a lot to repair and thats why they go bad,
Referent cools the inside pipes then antifreeze moves the cold to the A coil where air passes over the cold air handler and heat is removed back to the boiler unit after it is cooked off outside in the water tower, its cheaper to use antifreeze the fill the comercial system with referent. It take way too much to cool the building effectively.

  6. My 2001 celica got in a wreck the condensers got bent insurance would only pay for an aftermarket unit. It was steel the factory one was aluminum. It never worked as good and just after q year went by it started leaking.
I went and bought a stock replacement and diy it at home took me less then an hour, but ive installed cold air intakes with k&n filters at work. Then I took it a buddies shop and ran his ac machine on it, its blowen at about 46dg the past 15 years. I dont like using aftermarket parts.
They do not always work the same.

  7. Remove radiator and condensers. Less work. Man pulling the pump you could have pulled the bumper and moved the radiator enough to pull the compressor pump out the grill without dropping the lower support frame.

  8. Hey now. Snap on states that panel popping tool is not a prybar no shit when I got mine or the last 3 or 4 of them thats what I was told. I always thought that was funny, becuse its ment to pry door panels or other interior parts loose.

Next time snappy snap on rolls around ask him, same with the pointed tool thats used for brake parts and pulling cotter keys.

  9. When I see designs like this I often think that designers and engineers should be made to take apart a fully assembled car before it goes into production.

The hope would be they would see where how difficult it is when the ludicrous service times to remove a part really are. Even as a minor diyer there's times I'm also cursing the moron who thought it was a good idea to put things in such tight spaces.

  10. "Swollen nuts"… "Hold My Rod"… "Relax the shaft" …. am I watching a repair video or something else??? No one knows… 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣

  11. Incredible how customers get ripped off, this compressor has a variable displacement valve on 8:34 you had your finger on it, you can check for continuity on this valve, if it doesn't have just change the valve, no need to change the whole compressor! The valve cost 60 bucks, how much does the whole compressor cost and probably made in China? I prefer to keep the OEM compressor!

  12. I can tell you first hand that the v6 is a huge pain to work on I have one and I have 229623 on it all I have done is check the oil weekly
Far as the AC pump take the top motor mount out and jack up the motor
