I finally got a mechanic to help in the shop!

The spring season is just about here and I have more shop projects and work than I can keep up with. I found a local young mechanic that was able to give me a hand and so far so good! Enjoy

  1. Calling him Nathan, not "Nate the Great" yet, also your mention about how a good of job Nate does with the buffing of the truck, and his Response " Pretty fly for a white Guy"
    Classic, great video😊

  2. I’m the same age as Nathan. I run my own plumbing business. I have definitely had people say to me “ you’re how old? My kids your age.” I always fight the urge to say “ don’t compare my to your lazy kid.” Lol.

Nice to see you sticking up for the younger dudes in the trade.

  3. 41:55 saw you weld a way to connect your ground clamp made me chuckle 😂😂😂😂. Just gonna say you could have laid the steel and ground clamp on top and it would have worked through contact.

My shop foreman asked me why i did what you did as well. Just a easier way, without having to weld something that’s unnecessary.

  4. When you get that on your truck they actually make a product it's Iron remover you simply spray on it turns purple when it meets iron and you hose it off. Won't hurt your paint you should do it at least twice a year to remove the brake dust that gets on paint too..

  5. So happy Ryan hired this young guy and gave him a chance. Many to most of us in construction who started and successfully operated our own business started just like him. In 1976 I was 27, owned a 1967 Chev pickup, no lumber rack or tool boxes, just a nail belt, skill saw, a few basic form setting hand tools and a bucket of hand trowels. Rented a bull float, a jitter bug and went out to start my own concrete construction business. Sold my multi million dollar business in 2001 to my foreman who had been with me 15 years, carried a contract for him and retired. He paid the business off in just under 10 years and is still building his business even larger than it was when I sold it to him.

  6. I've been working since I was 11 yrs old, there are a lot of things I learned in my 47 yrs on this rock. First off is don't judge anyone's potential, second, don't settle for one thing as a passion or career, third, let them try and offer criticism, that way they improve.
I've worked for many mom and pop shops and corporate companies, including one of your states biggest manufacturer, Trane. We're all just people trying to figure life out and do our best to be who we want to be and help others.
BTW, expanded metal inside the basket area, it'll be a defeat for the dot and incase some idiot chucks something small in there, it won't wipe out a tire.

  7. this guy needs to be on the concrete or a hybrid for sure. smart , young ,eager and good attitude. I love love eric but he still very immature and you need to ride him. this guy barely needs instruction. every single guy ryan gots on the concrete besides bugs needs daily instruction and needs their hand held.
