Lol I got $ on someone unsubbing because you said hi and waved to a cop
My own work truck had a leak I could not pinpoint with a tester it was so small. But once I took apart the dash I found the bottom of the evap covered in compressor oil, obviously a leak. Replaced the evap and it fixed the leak, not the condenser that was hammed lol.
Hope you enjoyed your Chick-F-Lay, now I’m hungry.
If you hook a regulated air line put some pressure on the system you can spray it down with some leak check if it bleeds down
they drained his system and said he needs repair wtf
Why didn't you just smoke the ac system to see where the leak is you can see the smoke on the evaporator core with a camera
I went to a parts store hot some refrigerate and filled my mother's ac and it's been working sence
wow, what a colossal waste of time for an obvious condenser leak considering 14 – 18 GM truck bodies have 100% condenser failure due to a factory defect
why not fill the sysytem with nitrogen gas to leak test. ?
I believe you are allowed to use a refrigerant for testing purposes that is different from the type it uses in operation. Just make sure the oil is the same or at least compatible. I've put 410-a in an R22 system as a tracer ( not running the system and not with mineral oil) and pressured with nitrogen many times. Used it in auto ac as well. Works great for testing for leaks. As far as retrofit to 134 you may want to check the law on that. I believe you are allowed to before a certain date. But that is just what I have heard. Better off biting the bullet and getting the right equivalent. just charge a fair price for the job. Sucks but it's part of doing business.
They must have used a Jug and gauges and manually topped it off.
I don't know about USA and how they interpret the rules but I believe the grade of a/yf a/c fluid is governed for the 'end of life' so either if the vehicle is scrapped or there is a leak and the fluid inadvertently escapes into the environment. If that vehicle does not get used or handed back to the customer with the old r-134a then I would hope you would be okay with what you did..
Any update on this?
REeeeeeeeeeeeeeEeeeeeeeeee
Number 1 trick crooked dealers do. Crack those valves ever so slightly to insure a customer return. They then claim they do the work when all they do is retighten the valve(s) and send a ticket to the cashier for $4000.00 . . .
ðŸ‘
I appreciate your trying to save the customer money.
what i learned its not actually that hard to swap coolant systems and like anything its only illegal if you get caught
In my eyes it snot illegal unless the truck goes out on the hwy
Let's face it, the general rule of thumb would be better off just bypassing the dealer and just taking your vehicle to Ray right from the very beginning…unless there's some very specific warranty work that needs to be done. Otherwise, Ray's the man!
I just can’t believe that you would break any rules.
Isn't 134 supposed to be environmentally friendly? What kinda scam is this now?
Windshield washer fluid will always trigger the leak detector. It's a great way to make sure the detector is working before you pull you hair out.
The new 1234yf refrigerants are propane based I believe and the thing about propane is that the molecules are small enough to seep through the rubber hoses and seals. When these vehicles with this refrigerant first came out there were tons of vehicles that needed recharges and there were no leaks found. Lots of guys put 134a in because they could not get the new refrigerant and those vehicles that they put 134a in have not needed recharges since.
this was great ray always makes me happier seeing a new video
am not have never been a car guy im a retail guy last week i took my 07 acura to get serviced
cuz it had been sitting back here in my parking spot at my apt for a long time (cuz i was in and
out of hospitalsfor the 2015 brain tumore that came back) i took care of the dmv paperwork
then i wait for drs to clear me to return to driving but then i noticed hot air was coming out of the a/c
i didn't tell acura about it because i needed a new axel that had been leaking all this time from sitting back
here while i was in the hospital that cost me $1600.50 so iv'e only been driving getting fresh air by driving with
my window down then at night the ac gets cold but only at night btw i didn't see you do anything wrong i
like to think of it as a cheat code
Label a spare, close to empty 134a tank "Diagnostic Gas Use Only."
Hello from Ontario, Canada… yes, I'll still talk to you. Just had my 2017 Tahoe Z71 recharged with 1234yf after an extensive search for leaks. Expensive at $18.00 per ounce of refrigerant. Just wait until you have to recharge a house unit!
Regarding 26:05, why not use the tool to remove and install Schrader valve cores while the system is still charged [1]?
[1] "With This Tool You Can Replace A Schrader Valve WITHOUT Even Having To Evacuate The A/C System!" on the "Nthefastlane" YT-channel
23:37 did he say he’s got half the mind ? 😄ðŸ‘ðŸ»
Not good idea of documenting possible violations…
so you can't just change the battery on that tire sensor got a new one..autel so it's a really nice kit… also about the Schrader valve leaking you couldn't have just tightened it a little bit
well I don't know.. the TPMS sensor it's got a battery in it I know you don't fool with changing the battery but I us Po folks out here might consider it.. and just a little tightening of the Schrader valve would not have been sufficient?
Just to let you know it's illegal to put any refrigerant into a system that isn't approved. As long as you recover it responsibly i doubt anyone will make a big deal of it but make sure you record everything just in case. Been an ac tech for 30 years.
Can't you just use dry nitrogen for leak search
Just another corrupt dealership. That why i do go to dealership
cars have way too many sensors ooof
Change that pag to ester and let it roll…..down with the A2L's
R134A refrigerant for the WIN…
1234yf is not required in vehicles built after 2021. Current Super Dutys still use R134A.
