Installing Modded Games in Linux with Lutris
Let’s go over using Lutris and installing a modded Diablo 1 with a high-resolution patch. Lutris makes this entire process seamless and why I prefer to play older modded games in Linux. Timestamps:

How to install modded Photoshop on Linux any video there's?
My god is this annoying. I was hopping for some advice on getting why certain mods (ones that rely on dll injections) don't work in Linux. Not only was this not helpful but you do the same thing that all Linux fan boys do. Spend more time talking about Windows than saying anything useful. Also using installing scripts that require the internet to work on DRM free games defeats the purpose of DRM free.
IT WORKS!
thank You
I'm installing on of my fav games danganronpa v3 lol
Helped me out with just getting familiar with how things are installed. It's a bit confusing at first glance. Thanks Chris!
I'm having trouble running Fallout 2 with the Restoration Project installed – the latter which is also installed by Lutris. I'm a complete noob to Linux so I'm not entirely sure how to get it running. The Restoration Project needs to be installed in the Fallout 2 directory but when I do this it appears that it completely replaces the folder and I lose the Fallout 2 dependency. The script for Fallout 2 is more recent than the script for the RP so is it possible that they aren't compatible? I wonder if it has something to do with the destination folder, the RP wants to install to "C:GOG GamesFallout 2" which would be its Windows directory, whereas on Linux its installed in Home/username/Games. Also want to note that Fallout 2 Vanilla works perfectly, whereas with the RP it doesn't launch at all and gives a message "file not found". Any tips would be appreciated. So far I'm highly enjoying Linux Mint and will never go back to Windows, even if I won't be able to run every game, cheers.
Edit: After looking at the log, it appears that a dxkv error quits the game, my guess is this is an issue with vulkan?
I get the message: unable to locate package lutris. How i can fix this?
Ah old school original Diablo. Where one collects ears of fallen friends in battle. Good times.
I installed lutris on my Ubuntu 18.04 and it gave a pop up to install some drivers… I did that too… And now my OS do not start it got stuck at
[ OK ] Started Dispatcher demon for sysrem-networkd.
Linux is a better Windows than Windows 🤔
Do the twitch app games work?
My problem with linux is i dont know how i can render desktop effects on 144fps this happens on many desktop environments for me. I have 2 screens other is 1080p60hz and the other one is 1080p144hz. My gpu is a gtx 1060. If i disable the compositor on kde then it will be 144hz. I have configured the displays from the proprietary nvidia driver panel.
I have trouble installing Sourcemods. (I was trying to play HL2 MMod, and I didn't succeed, because the Developer didn't provide Linux binarys & hl2 donst work with proton)
Also in Lutris you can add special modes for early console emulators to add to your bit of nostalgia gaming…
I've never got Lutris to work on Mint, but Play on Linux works great.
Please make video pubg mobile on linux
Can u do video for adobe product running in linux? ðŸ˜
i found out that lutris does not like the flatpak of steam as for as lutris knows if you use the flatpak it does not exsist the deb version does work on POP!_OS 20.04
Thank you! Your Linux tips are amazing. I learned a lot from you and you helped me to switch from windows to Linux. I have a question about steam game "Assassin's Creed Odyssey" when I start the game it stucks on Ubisoft launcher with the message "looking for patches" if anyone here has an idea how to solve this I will appreciate.
CTT + Diablo Tchernobog? Are universes colliding?
Does Motocross Madness work on Linux? It is kinda hard to get it running on a windows machine with a graphics card from the 21st century and only somewhat runs correctly when using dgVoodoo
I like these Lutris / Wine / Proton videos. But could you make a tutorial video or series about writing Lutris install scripts?
To be fair the best way to play diablo is devilutionx. Runs natively, too.
Hi Chris, is there something I’m doing wrong on Lutris, can’t seem to get Civilization VI on Epic games to launch past the initial screen, goes dark after that, any tips?
Can i play unreal engine 2 games?
Your videos are great! Building up new computer and wanted to get away from Windows. I’m not unfamiliar with Linux yet still not advanced in usage. Gaming was a chain to windows and your videos will allow me to avoid having an install of it. Thx
I tried to install City of Heroes with Lutris, but it uses the Tequila downloader and would not work. PlayOnLinux gets it to work only,
You never said you had such good taste in games 🙂
Maybe I will use one of my 500 gig HDD's for just games and multimedia.
Got lutris to run in antix, but the guides for installing vulkan was for ubuntu and did not work in antix. The pc has a pcie 3d card
Its nice seeing this beginner friendly video on linux. Btw I use manjaro cinnamon community edition.
GOG is my first stop too, these days.
Another cool game project is OpenRA. You can play first gen C&C, and Dune 2000. Completely native!
Enjoying all your Linux videos and I finally now understand the Wine bottles. Have you got a video that gives an overview, or pulls together, how Lutris, Wine, and Steam Proton all fits together? I see how/where Wine and Lutris are now working, and have seen where to add the Proton GE to Steam, but it seems Steam in turn creates a /Steam/steamapps/compatdata/ directory with folders for each game, and then within /Steam/steamapps/common/ it also creates folders only for Proton versions. I've also noticed that sometimes if I'm switching between Proton and maybe Linux runtime as compatibility layers it has deleted my whole 20GB game folder. Is Steam's Proton depending at all on existing Wine installations?
Hello Chris, I have been watching your videos on Linux. I have not used Linux before, so I would to know more. I have a Chromebook that has Linux pre-isntalled. But I don't know where to start. I have used windows for ever, so any other operating system is alien to me. Even Chrome is unfamiliar to me.
By switching to linux, i get screentearing with my GTX 1070 TI. Also scrolling in Webbrowser is choppy. I have instaled Nvidias proprietary drivers. I‘m using Linux Mint.
hey chris, are you really THIS small or is the table just too high?
It was a great video ðŸ˜. I switched to Linux after seeing your channel.
Lol 8000! Do native games not fucking wine or Lutris! We have 2020 morons!
