The paint has to be stripped. You can’t sand it off or bead blast it off. You have to use aerospace paint stripper. At that point I would passivate the bare aluminum Then zinc Chromate prime and repaint. That’s too bad about Consuelo’s blade. Once you get a strike the delam can be catastrophic. We had a blade strike in a Navy helo, used a Boeing epoxy to repair the ding, it took a maint. Flight, came back and the epoxy was gone. The blade was eventually replaced. The safety in aviation is written by blood, meaning if the issue has killed someone in the past it must be fixed or replaced.

The BO-105 is my favorite civilian helicopter.. I love the EC-145's (relative to the 105) but there is a reason Red Bull utalizes one!
