This video is about the timing cover removal of a Jeep Wrangler 3.6l V6 Engine. The Customer States the engine misfires. After performing a cylinder leaked down test, we found air leaking from the the number 6 piston into the exhaust. This indicates the exhaust valves are leaking while closed and that cylinder head repair must take place. The heads were removed sent to the machine shop for repairs. After head repair we are going through the process of torquing down the heads to the engine block.

Where’s the next part to this???
In a stealership, would some mechanics be so meticulous?
When doing angle on head bolts. Your torque wrench should allow you to do a second or third pull to fully achieve in full swing. Or maybe I missed this part while just listening to the show. Keeps me moving!!
Great advice about those bolt holes and the dowels. I hope that I never have to deal with them on my new Wrangler down the roads.
53:49 is the right hand bank, intake, nearest rocker: back to front? Looks like the "dome" end is on the spring, rather than the adjuster? Or does it not matter?
We never saw the outcome 🙄
You only have to loosen and retorque if it’s a NEW block. What you’re doing only requires torquing once.
I have the snap-on tech angle torque wrench, I love the future of it holding previously angle torque when you go in reverse!
Ha the yanks ripping the English language makes me laugh
@adamrothmeyer5858 I didn't want to comment on the backwards rocker arms because you never know when Ray is trolling us. ðŸ˜
Worst part of head gasket jov is the head bolts, the stress. 😅
This is the standard of a true professional!
Disappointing resolution is only 1080p
Make it unique, for financial purposes, where the purpose is to bill more for components when they need replacements.
55:23 Good lord I the 80HD squirrels are strong today.
My brain immediately turned this into Chrysler averted 😂
54:32 This is the future we got for tolerating legislators who were in the pockets of industry. Everything in the name of profit before anything else.
We just had to do the cv axle on our 2004 Passat, and the torque on that was… Yikes. I think it was 150 foot pounds, loosen half a turn, then 180 degrees.
I am glad that the rockers were fixed. That was bothering me the whole time I was watching the video.
25:30 too bad your go pro can't work as hard as you do Ray
Riveting content? No, I find it rather FASTENating!
It is kinda weird that you didn't notice your mistake about the two rockers on both sides, but luckily you read the comments, checked your work and made a short about it. Just a reminder to yourself, stay sharp Ray! 😊ðŸ‘
Your letting the bolt relax …. I guess? Then return it to previous tension…= b.s .😂😉
15:42 looks like a Fibonachi move! (Not the numbers but the spiral…)
1:45 are you going to debadge the sign?
As Stellantis’ auto sales in the US continue to swirl the drain, I wonder how much longer it will be until they leave the North American market completely.
What no oil on the head bolts?!!!
This is why if you see a mechanic at the gym you better be worried. He doesn't need it.
Gotta get more Jeep surgery soon or it's cold turkey time…….
or is that what i'm having for lunch? can't remember… things get hazy with age.
Great stuff as always.
Why on earth are you not coating your head bolts with oil before installing them
Welcoming back!
Welcoming back!
Great series, as a 65 year-old enthusiast and mechanic I’ve learned more from you in the past three years, than the Previous 20…Amazing!!!

Nice work uniform Rae.
Whoever thought of allowing rockers to float in an engine and not be bolted down are imbeciles, that goes for any of them like this.
“I love my job so much, I do it twice†😂
Ray please tell me u caught the 2 rockers on left handed intake backwards 😮
@49:49 "It all started when they started spelling tire with a y" (Tyre)
Ok, but, English was invented in ENGLAND so, maybe we have been spelling it wrong this whole time? (Or should I say Tyme?)
