10. Lions live in a variety of habitats but prefer grassland, savanna, dense scrub, and open woodland. Historically, they lived across much of Europe, Asia, and Africa, but now they are mainly found in parts of Africa south of the Sahara.

    These lions were originally brought here to PA. Unwillingly, that is.

    It's interesting too think how different a place north America would be if our wayward species had gotten across at the bering sea: Saber tooths,whooly mammoth , and whooly rhinos, and other species bison wouldn't be the only thing in the history books.
