  1. Yikes. You had to actually go hunt down the odometer? Leaking motor mounts?? And that oil filter location… Cars sure got weird while I was playing with my old heaps. Anyway, neat vid. You've got a gift for pacing. No weird rants or rambling, no senile old man political commentary, no eerie silence, solid camera work and editing. I'll be back. Thanks.

  2. Ray, you may be one of them mechanics that just likes to making videos but your honesty and positivity have a way of helping me get into a better headspace when i need it, thank you sir.

  3. Do you ever show ur videos to a customer? Seem like that would be a good way to show them what the problem really looks like. A lot of people don't trust mechanics sometimes anyway and that would be a good way to prove what you're talking about.

  4. I have one of these, ours hasn't been too bad despite these tend to be lemons especially the 2014 year, which I have. Mine has about 20k more miles on it than this one, but it too is taken care of.
So this brings me to another cool thing this Buick can do, I'm sure there are others besides GMC products that do this, but if you have opened the brake system, like I did when I had to replace both front calipers, and you have a scan tool that can access this feature, but the computer has the ability to help assist with evacuating the air out of the system so you don't have to play the UP and DOWN Peddle Game with your buddy. Lol. They are interesting. I also would highly recommend to anyone who has this or any vehicle that has that life of oil monitor, that once it reads in the 30s Id check it after each or every other fill up. Don't trust the computer and take it's word as finally.
I check mine on every tenth % . From 100, to 90 then to 80 and so one. Once it starts reading in the 30s I'm watching it as I've had mine read 32% and it looked awful so I changed it out. I haven't watched the entire video so not sure if we see how to rest that oil monitor, but it's super easy, you can look it up or ask me I'll tell you.
Also if you own one of these, and the D.I.C. Buttons have stopped responding to touch this includes the hazard light switch, respond to this tell me what happened and I'll tell you how to reset it. GM would like you to think it will cost you a complete new dash and computers which would have been supernova expensive, but I found a super easy way to fix it that will bring it back to working order. Thanks for reading, and always a thumbs up Ray!! Ps, yes I knew it has liquid engine mounts. Sounds funny, like a liquid transmission, which is a real thing, we just more commonly refer to them as Hydrostatic transmissions. All be well and safe from the storm!

  5. This is just 1 of many reasons I hate GM products. Less than 70K miles and the Hydraulic Motor is leaking ? All manufacturers and models have issues, except all GM products have extremely poor quality everything. Just buy a Toyota/ Lexus or a Honda / Acura product people. Let’s send a message to Vehicle Manufacturers like GM to start building a quality product and just stop hiding behind our American Flag with your Chinese crappy parts. This
Comment was brought to you by a former Owner of numerous GM products over the years.

  6. Psa. Hondi and Kia users watch your cars their is away for people to steal them with a USB and portable power bank. Take less the 30 seconds push to start only. Take me seriously!!!!

  7. It really irritates me that the most basic maintenance item is made such a huge pita by whoever designed this car. Can't do it from below, filter location behind the hot manifold, filter oriented to spill oil when removed.

I'm no mechanic, are there worse vehicles for oil changes? List em off…

  8. The oil drain plug, filler, dipstick, and oil filter ought to be located in the easiest possible locations for access. Anything else is BAD design.

  9. Beware: I was not seeing any new content from you…. I thought you took a break…. After 2 weeks I went looking for you incase you experience a health concern…. When searching for you I found that YouTube bumped me off your channel…. I have now re-subscribe and I am catching up on my education,…

  10. YES to the starting the lug nuts by hand, then using the torque stick on the impact driver.

YES to doing the oil filter by feel. I sometimes work on automobiles at night and people ask me how I can do that and if I can't see what I am doing. My reply: in broad daylight I can't see half what I am doing, so not much difference at night. But, with a headlight strapped to my forehead and 110°F (43°C) days here in TX, nights are often preferred, at least in the Summer.
