I live at one of the largest artillery bases in the country so I’ve grown to enjoy hearing the artillery in the background, or seeing the random fire that is caused by the impact (?) to the dry grass. We celebrate what our family member does by having displays for the service members family to see. I grew up in a “blue state” in a very liberal area. Not hearing artillery is strange and I always feel on edge. You have to learn to adapt otherwise you’d be a nervous wreck.

   My thought is “wait, isn’t this technically celebrating displays on how they’re going to kill people???” So that’s bad??….but it’s so fun to watch…but I should be happy to see what other people fear”.
