Is there anything that Motorola can do to bring its Moto G series back to the affordable Android podium? Or is it time for a full reset? We tested the Moto G 5G (2024), Moto G Play (2024), and Moto G Power (2024) to find out.

  1. Why not just load a pixel apk camera and solve the problem off the. Want phone a little faster turn off animations completely or.5x but for less than 200 bucks what do you want truly. Nice phone I love the vegan back I have it haven't used it yet because I haven't put my galaxy s24 down wishing it was the same size as moto g. Great video you deserve a million subscribers

  2. When Motorola got sold to Lenovo, things jumped the shark for Moto phones. They’re starting to do decently on the Edge phones and are competitive with their Razr phones. However, the G lineup has really been lacking since at least 2020 or 2021. Each year, Motorola G phones had worse specs than the previous model and their software support is very weak. Yeah they get a decent amount of security patches but they are the worst Android phones on OS updates. I mean, how hard could it be to release a phone and then support that phone for at least 3-4 years on OS and 4-5 years on security patches? Motorola has a lot to enjoy especially if you’re a fan of stock android and things like the Moto actions you don’t get anywhere else. Motorola wants to run with the big dogs on Android like Google and Samsung but they go cheaper and make mediocre phones instead of taking real risks on solid devices. It’s sad too, because Motorola is way more stable than Pixels and their setup is almost identical to them. It’s like having a Pixel without the bugs and glitches but Motorola is going to have to up their game or risk going the way of LG.

  3. I'm frustrated with 2024 Motorola Play 5g! I hate writing something and it misses letters or writes weird things, then i have to delete and go back t ok tewrite(as you cdn see here!!) My old Motorola neber did this!

Then, i can't find a case that actually fits!!!! The headset hole placement should be OPPOSITE the camera for case!!!!! I've ordered 2 cases in which the headset hole was (ABOVE) the camera. I need opposite that!!!! Motorola Play 5g 2024. I will neber buy thix brsnf agsin!!!! As uou csn see from tuping, thiscis wjat the keyboard does!!! My old Motorola didn't do this!!!! I hate thys phone and im stuck eith it for 2 years!!!! Ugh!!!! I hope everyone else has better luck tgdn i fsbe!!!! I hate deletung and retuoing everything!!!!

The back is also extremely slippery without a cover!!!! Not good!

  4. I used to be a big Motorola fan. But considering what you get for what you pay for and their software experience, it’s not what it used to be. Especially if you take a look at what Samsung has to offer with their A series of phones.

  5. I've been an LG guy then a Motorola guy, but now I'm about to join the Samsung team. Can't invest my money on a phone that has such a short lifespan.

  6. The Moto g series phones to the reviewers point do struggle in bright light situations when you take the phone outside it's barely visible also I would say Motorola was never in the conversation for having great cameras I wish they would give better camera software support to the Moto g series phones those are the budget and mid-range phones that they sell the most so I would think that they should give more emphasis on the things that people care about the most when it comes to phones those phones do have great battery life I must say they have a clean software as long as you don't get a carrier phone that will give the phone bloatware in apps the design is fine it looks good and clean but the two things that I think they need to improve on is the camera software support and updates and also maybe better Haptic feedback and better displays

  7. The Moto G Play has serious charging issues. The only way it charges is powered down. Having a 2 day battery is the only thing that makes it usable. It is a step down from the The G Play 2021 which was no longer updating. This will be my last Motorola Phone.

  8. My First Motorola was the "Bag Phone"!!! Then we got our "Star Trek Beam Me UP Scotty" phones. Then more flip phones with NOKIA being the BEST! Then came Samsung 3,4,7,9,10 – but they've taken away our headphone jacks and expandable memory – so here I am looking at Motorola! 🙂

  9. Interesting that they got worse after I bought mine. My current phone is the Moto G42 and most of these problems don't really materialize. Sure, it still a 60Hz panel, but it's also OLED and 1080p. The cameras aren't excellent but there is a 50mp quad pixel main sensor, a macro and an ultra-wide. It also has NFC, which confused me about your comment on the "long awaited function". It also never stuttered or crashed at all. The phone came out in the summer of 2022 and I got it in September of the same year. Have no regrets with the phone or any concerns to speak of besides the lackluster camera quality, which is expected for a phone that cost only 230€ at the time. I usually keep my phones at least 4 years and I don't see a reason not to do the same with this one. The adds on the software also shocked me. I don't have any adds now and if they continue down this path I will definitely not get another Moto phone in the future.

  10. Honestly I think the Moto G (much like Motorola’s phones in general) peaked at the Moto G 3rd gen. That felt as great as a budget phone from them would ever get, especially considering it was around $200 and the Moto X was around $400. There’s been too many half-assed attempts to expand the line but still made odd compromises that other budget phones were able to start including (NFC largely). With the Edge phones being extremely dull, the Razr falling further behind the Z Flip series, and their inconsistency with software updates, it’s going to take another smash hit for Motorola to become a serious threat again. My best bet would be reviving the Moto X with Moto Maker and hopefully a new Droid phone. Let those try and perform well and if they do, they can trickle it back down to the Moto G series

  11. I had the 1st Moto G. So popular in my country and praised everywhere. I hated it 😂 Sold it only after a few weeks.

  12. I just bought a Moto G stylus (2024) it constantly has issues with Bluetooth (with different Bluetooth devices), disconnecting all the time every 10 minutes… NEVER had an issue like this with Motorola products before… Motorola definitely has gone downhill with their product, i wish i had bought the 2020 moto G stylus, now THAT was a good phone!

  13. i have Moto G gen1, still working but the bat is weak and software is slow. I'm still quite excited seeing new updates and iterations of motoG. it is only for nostalgic reasons tho. motog has fallen so low, idk how the company survives 😅

  14. Since Lenovo purchased Motorola, the phones have continually gotten suckier. After buying a motor g a couple years ago for my daughter, and realizing how far down they have come, I've sworn of Motorola phones until i see proof that they want to make quality phones

  15. I used my Moto G1 for four years, and then I switched to an iPhone 7 Plus. The Moto G1 was a really great phone 👍🏽

  16. I went from an LG G7 to a Moto G Play 2021.. and still using it. It has very low specs (even compared to the older LG G7), and didn't notice a difference in overall performance. Sure the camera isn't great, but does the job (the battery life is great).. but somehow I get through each and every day doing what most other people do on their phones., browse, text, call use GPS… and don't think twice about it. It's only LTE but speeds are fine, it rarely stutters or takes more than 2 or 3 seconds for a page to load or for GPS to pick up a signal. Now, I'm not a gamer so can't speak to that, but if my three year old low end Moto G still works fine, I have to believe the newer models will work even finer 😉

  17. Android Authority is by far the most anti-Android site seriously. In the past year all I have seen are negative points towards Android makers and so much fruit licking towards their Apple overlords it's not even funny…

  18. Whaaatt! I don't want to better materials, I need a freaking good quality plastic, not a f..g glass everywhere. I bought moto g54 5g and I'm happy moved on from 7 years old huawei mate 10 pro. I bought for battery, camera, I can write yeas there is camera, in that aspect could be better but I bought with points and promotion for 80 bucks new one with big 6000maH im happy to use.

  19. I had the first moto G and waited in line to get it first. Then got the G2, 3 and 4. Since then everything went south. I had to leave the G series
