The Murder Nova officially made its NHRA debut in the brand new NHRA Outlaw Street class… and what a rollercoaster weekend it was.
Coming off an incredible test session, we truly thought we had a car capable of winning one of the brand new Diamond Wally trophies. But once qualifying started, the car had other plans. We chased issues all weekend long and never got to show the full potential early on. Even with the problems, Shawn still qualified #3 in a stacked field when we were aiming for the #1 spot.
Once eliminations started, things finally began turning around.
We picked up a round 1 win with LOW ET of the round and headed into the semifinals against Scott Taylor. After digging through data and making changes, we finally found the issue and the Murder Nova absolutely flew again with LOW ET of the round for the second time…
…but Shawn was dead late on the starting line and our shot at bringing home a Diamond Wally was over.
Still, this was an incredible first NHRA outing for the Murder Nova and we learned a TON. We’ll be back.
