Nice find On the Spark Plug Boot Leaking Electrons @Rainman Ray's Repairs
At least you only need wobbly bits and dont have to take the intake manifold off like you do on the newer Jeeps with the 3.6L
I’m shocked you didn’t unravel the heater hoses !ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿
LMAO at the "no step on snek" sticker
Chrysler said nope! Well at least this wasn't a Grand Cherokee. Plugs and coils are hidden under the intake plenum on the newer ones.
I always hated wranglers. Guys wire so much stuff on them. Sometimes they put lights in the hood and you can't even get it open to change the battery. Or there were so many extra wires hooked on the battery that there was no way to pull it out. And they all seem to have a corrosion problem on the positive cable end.
How do you prevent inductive crossfire running the wires together instead of parallel but 1/4†apart?
First note: running your tank that low is a VERY bad thing – never below 1/4 folks. Makes life much better and cheaper long term
MY gut dropped when you pulled the throttle open lol I have a car that ANY manual messin with either throttle body is a whole new throttle relearn process lol
That wiring mess… just… smh dang monkeys…
No, no anti seize on spark plugs. just nope. If they seize, you got bigger probs way before then.
Wanna worry about difficult plugs? compare to 300Z or 93 Lumina LMAO
My escape is pulling that code right now. It started as coming and going now it’s constant. The car isn’t worth repairs so just letting it ride till it dies.
The skull and crossbones ðŸ´â€â˜ ï¸ on the console is so badass omg 😱
I've seen thinner cable runs when doing labor work for a concert stage production company!
Is it just me, or does it seem like every time Ray attempts the "back up horn beeps for safety", the horn doesn't work? I wonder if he mentions this on the service write-up as I have yet to see him fix a horn in a video : )
Thanks for the videos Ray
My alternator tensioner arm broke its frame bolt. Unfortunately the bolt threads are still stuck in the bolt hole. I removed the tensioner for safekeeping, and my alternator belt is now being kept under tension by a ratchet strap attached to the right front body panel until I can get it to a mechanic. What would you say if THAT rolled in?
2006 impala what would cause the traction control to randomly kick on
Why does that Jeep have such childish decor? Does he think he’s a pirate?
Just want to say thank you, this last weekend my 2018 Ram 1500 was parked nose deep into a spot that didn’t allow to be jumped off, and of course no one had a jump box. Because of you I knew about the manual transmission override and I was able to coast down the hill and get on my way. Thank you for the knowledge.
Mop and GLO works amazing on that type surface to make it nice and shiny
The wiring under the hood of this thing is a real mess…
fault should be p0303
Naj bolji si samo nastavi.
Surprisingly the Jeep doesn’t have a wiring issue with all those wires everywhere 😬😳👌ðŸ¼
At 25:50 an apostrophe has run away from your written statement
Raises way more questions than answers. These are tapered plugs in an aluminum head right? Loose for fear of stripping out the head. Anti sneeze hand tight and one eighth torque. Iridium plugs like cop cars never have to change them again.
Holy rats nest wiring harness Batman
Enjoy your running commentary, making even the most mundane tasks sound interesting.
One thing I learned during my over 35 years wrenching was when replacing HT ignition wires it is much easier to tie the coil wire end of the old wire to the plug side of the new one, and gently pull / guide the wire through the labyrinthine path to the plug. Sometimes it's the only way to get it through!
Keep up the good work!
Subscribed.
Great curtain call. Show us more of all the bad parts lined up next to the new parts so we can get a better comparison.
I.
Ike that you are so Thorough.
I thought it was cool that Primus was playing in the background. They have a lot of great music.
Kool
WOW very interesting super kool ,1st class great info., AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
Ray, nice job. There is a tool that works like the old "Chinese finger". Which allows you to attach the new wire to the old wire, and pull in the new wire to save trouble threading the new wire. It was not bad on this job from what I could see, but it may save some time on some more difficult engines.
Injecting lube into both holes, thats what she said /like lol
how about you can stuck with a job on Satderday
heck i cant stand the muzak in the back ground, its distracting
back in my day I would never use power tools to remove spark plugs, and i still wont today ,especially with aluminum heads, if the threads feel funny I use P_B and let the threads soak, but on the other hand I quit working in shops 40 years ago.
Did an engine swap and clutch on one of those last year. My last one to lol.
Omg a 3.8 that made it to 200k,. Must have the updated pcv system and That owner must drive on flat ground and change oil regularly… They don't last that long in the mountains around here.. Tried to find a used motor for one about a year ago..(Uncle Rodney).. Took a while,. Had to get one out of LA and pay the shipping…
Hope you are looking forward to working on lots of nice clean electric cars in future ðŸ˜
Killer Intro
Keep up the great work
Brother… ✌ðŸ˜ðŸ‘
Those heater hoses look really relaxed…
Was it just me or was anyone else greatly disturbed by the wiring? Love the videos!
If you’ve got a doozy of a spark plug run if the spark plug boot is straight you can usually tape it onto the old existing spark plug pull it through to where it’s easy to grab which will make your job easier
Argh, do I see a seat belt light on the dash during the beginning test drive?
