  1. Don't feel guilty about charging that customer because he or she brought it to you; you did not go to him or her for help, and besides, it costs a lot of money for that scanner to check the problem. I do the same thing; you have to charge for your time and diagnosis.

  2. I bought one of these very cheap on Facebook marketplace and the guy basically misdiagnosed his car saings his transmission and engine is shot. And it was smoking really bad and it would not rev past 3000 RPM. Basically all it was was the PCV valve was stuck open and the intake manifold was filled with oil and one of the fuel injectors was stuck open plus the original fuel pump filter, which is part of the whole fuel pump assembly in the gas tank was pitch black when I cut it open the filter housing. So the issue was basically a combination of those three things. At first, I was suspecting mass airflow sensor, and oxygen sensors. The original Denzo spark plugs that were there were totally oil fouled and the tips were shortened, and I replaced those right off the bat. Additionally, I’d like to add that it was way overfilled with oil far up the dipstick tube. The coolant is really thick looks old. The transmission fluid smelt bad, but not burnt, but it was black and the cabin air filter was filthy. So basically this guy totally did not maintain his car at all. Which I think is all too common in the world. Maintain your vehicles folks! The transmission fluid is easy to change. Coolant is easy to change!

  3. Classic where big business lists 20 to 30 possibilities as Probable causes, just like Windows. It like, whatever the shop has laying around, let the mechanics and the shops choose, customers will never know. 02 sensors have probably made over a billion dollars so far.

  4. Ray, i was wondering why the TPMS light was on. You had a part you glashed in the video and was wondering what that was all about. I have the same problem with my xD atm

  5. The hit the country helium it was helium “terrorism” !!!! And paper “terrorism.” Some people found it and already reported it at least I did… considering Covid -19 -Ryan Dwane

    (I never knew them I just was able to figure it out)

  6. Back in the 70's My Father told me to remember this, Auto Mechanics and Doctors are similar to the extent of unless your problem happens for them to see, they CAN'T Fix IT.

  7. Ray, the way you explain things is just amazing. Your thoroughness and attention to detail make you a cut above all other technicians, and the time you spend diagnosing an issue is certainly billable time. I wish you and your family well, and may you have continued success in growing your business.

  8. I was Betting on the ECM,
    I have had a bunch of things go wrong at once an it drove me nuts till I got to thinking about it,
    A new Computer fixed it all,

  9. Know why they called it an xD? Because Toyota was laughing to the bank with the Scion brand.

    xD = 😆

    Also. Never do a "fuel system cleaner" at any big box shop.
