This is a very common issue on these Nissan 2.5. Although it can be mechanical engine timing, cam phasers etc. The majority of the time it is a simple solenoid. It would be my suggestion to swap out all three (intake, lock and exhaust) solenoids but the choice is yours. -Enjoy!

  1. Hi, I’m getting a P052B code on my Nissan Rogue 2016 SV.
Cold Start A Camshaft Position Timing Over-Retarded Bank 1
Is this the same? I’ve already replaced the Camshaft Position Sensor. Wondering if I need to replace the Timing solenoids, although I’m not getting the trouble codes you list here for this problem. Thx. I’m a DIYer and am not afraid to tackle the job. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

  2. You can do this from underneath . Jack it up, Remove passenger wheel , use ratchet and long extension and you will be able to reach all 3 bolts for the 3 sensors

  3. Followed this video to a T and everything went smooth. Definitely recommend a short ratchet wrench for the 10mm bolts on the solenoid. Make sure motor mounts are aligned because aluminum isn't forgiving. Also here's prayers these dorman solenoids I put on work for the rest of my ownership!

  4. 2 quick questions. 1, would this cause an engine knock? 2. Even if it reads engine exhaust call Tim and control Bank 1 in combination with camshaft position timing over advanced throw the code for intake or another one? I only have p0014 and already changed the exhaust solenoid still getting the code

  5. I have a weird issue. Car was running fine, needed a new valve cover gasket. So we replaced it & now the engine is misfiring. I'm wondering if some vacuum line has detached from the bottom. Possibilities of the issue would be great! Anybody?

  6. Does the 2012 2.5 Altima have these same 3 solenoids, I’ve been chasing a p0302 misfire for several months, replaced injectors, valve cover gasket, fuel pump, gas cap,maf sensor, new plugs and coils also, and changed the plug connector for number 2 coil, pcv and hose, new throttle air intake boot, still misfiring cylinder 2??

  7. Outstanding DIY video, thanks for taking the time and sharing it I was able to follow you step by step and it was dead on the money car runs like a champ.

  8. Why does my car experience surges when idling? I recently had my ignition coils, spark plugs, and air filter replaced, and I've noticed a slight surging sensation, even though the RPM doesn't fluctuate.
