I'm still racing the same car to this day. i had the drag radial record at that track with a 4.71 that yr, and the best I went that yr elsewhere was a 4.58 with my small block nitrous engine. and on that day, most of us faster guys where in the 4.80s and and 90s and me and Svo had one wild race in the finals 😮

Man, how times have changed. Cars were so much slower, but people just raced. No bickering, fighting as it got in later years. I miss the RSD days before it became too commercialized. I was able to pretty much turn GLD into a roundy round track. I think I made 30+ passes at one RSD. All small money or even no money races. Was a fun era.
