Let’s compare web browsers and see which one is best. One of these is absolutely horrible and won’t be recommended to ANYONE.

  1. Chris Titus Tech: I used to use Opera a lot before the Chinese took them over and I enjoyed it very much back then. The last time I tried it I hated it because within 10 to 15 minutes after I had set my speed dials they disappeared to be replaced with the original default speed dials. I will say the VPN definitely worked, because one site i was on was convinced i was in Europe.

  2. Brave use to be a good browser but not any more. I am sick of it going to a black screen most of the time when you click on a tab. It is faster most of the time and I do like it for watching NBC streaming and Amazon Prime without ads but most of the time it sucks. I have to use discards on Brave to keep pages from refreshing. Firefox sucks now and too many updates which causes the browser to get worse every time. Never tried Vivaldi but I will now. Great video.

  3. I used to use Opera for work, because of the lateral bar which helped me organizing my work. When I learned about the problems of Opera, I switched to Vivaldi, because it was the most similar in terms of the lateral bar use.
For my personal use I have Brave

  4. This video is old, so I'm not sure how relevant it is, but if you don't use the VPN, is Opera insecure? I tried Vivaldi and hated it. I don't like tools like Vivaldi that try to incorporate every feature imaginable into the browser.

  5. This is as of three years ago. I'm seeing a lot of marketing about Opera. I also saw that one of your more recent videos talks about four browsers, none of which was Opera. Have they improved it or is it still as bad as it was when you checked it out?
    Thanks for a great channel.

  6. I've been a very stubborn Opera user since it was paid. I've always liked it because it's always been very innovative with new interesting features and the developers are Nordic so I want to give them a little support.

I don't care that the owner is Chinese and that the monetization situation isn't the best, I'll see ads independently of browser and I don't care if some company sees which pages I've visited.

One thing that has annoyed me a long time is the bad syncing between devices and now It forgets that I've logged in several times a week so I'm switching to Vivaldi. I hope it has better sync functionality, that's the most important thing for me.

  7. Vivaldi all the way for me. Opera got sold to Chinese investors and the original team behind Opera founded Vivaldi. Brave and Firefox isn’t too bad but I much prefer Vivaldi nowadays.

  8. I miss the time it felt like being god tier using paid for Opera. I went from Chrome when MS nagged all the time to Edge when Alphabet nagged all the time went to Firefox, that crashed after 1 month and is aver all slow. I installed Brave now and still see if it is any better. Sigh.

  9. I use ungoogled chromium. It is chrome minus google(I believe). Earlier I used firefox. But in performance, you just cannot ignore chromium engine. It is a resource hog that is why it is rocket in performance. I have no RAM barrier so I use ungoogled chromium, otherwise Firefox isn't a bad alternative. Rest ALL the browsers are crap. Crap because most of them have bloatware or things that I just don't need.

  10. I was building and using an ugly Frankenstein from Opera and Chrome extensions, but everything I need (and even much more than I would dreamed about) has been always there in Vivaldi! How?! 🙂
    Thank you for the video.

  11. I use Firefox since 2.0 as my "main browser"… and use Brave too as a 2nd option… Tried Opera 10 or 12 yrs ago and it was nice but a little behind Firefox. Never tried Vivaldi but I will soon…
Also… never used IE on my pc… Indeed, internet was my main reason to switch to Linux…

  12. did Vivaldi ever make complete Visual Bookmarks and drag n drop ease like its integrated and synched in like featured in Opera Browser?

I know some Firefox and Chrome extensions got to make Visual Bookmarks but in all those cases the add-on creator either abandoned the project, discarded it or made some malicious change that broke Terms and was removed.
Once your favorite Bookmark add-on gets lost, you lost your bookmarks.
Browsers seem to outlive add-ons so I'm better off looking for things as built-in features rather than add-ons.

  13. I spent some time today looking for a new default browser for work since MS Edge has become unstable. I liked Vivaldi, but I like to sync my browsers and since I use an iPad as well and Vivaldi doesn’t have an iOS app, it’s out. Opera has a nice sidebar and workspaces functionality, but it’s version of sync was basically just link sharing. Brave seems good and has iOS apps, but at the end of the day I went back to my old standby: Firefox.

  14. I used Opera 12 until it started no loner working on many sides (and bothered me to update to the "new" Opera, which I did not want).
I then switched to Firefox for a while, which was good but when Vivaldi finally got a reputation for being reliable I picked that up and did not regret it. I still have Firefox installed for obscure plugins but for everyday browsing it's Vivaldi which feels much better then Firefox to me, as someone who barely ever closes his browser.
Never checked Brave out, though, sounds like a good alternative.

  15. I've used so many browsers over the years – Firefox, Vivaldi, Opera, Chromium, Brave, and many others – the latest version of Opera is absolutely the best performing for me – it beats all the others. No other browser is faster and it is rock solid stable and runs smooth as silk – extremely user friendly. It has some GREAT features the other browsers lack. My experience with Opera has been so good, I intend to keep using it as my main browser. Just one thing – use whatever browser you like based on your own judgement – don't make a decision based on what some tech guru says.

  16. I've been a long term user of opera. I've genuinely never heard of all those downfalls. Switching to viva as soon as I get back home

  17. I'm a VIvaldi guy. 🙂

For me,the killer feature is tab stacking. I love being able to organize my tabs so I don't have 20 tabs open on one level, making the tab labels unreadable. 🙂

  18. We use Google Workspace for work email, calendar, etc. and I use Opera for work stuff and I have Vivaldi open for my own personal use at the same time. I'm not too concerned about my work stuff being data-mined by the Chinese. I used to use Brave and the crypto stuff is interesting, but eh, whatever. Brave doesn't have the features that Vivaldi or Opera have. I use ExpressVPN while using Vivaldi as my main/personal with anything related to the company that I work for in Opera.
