In this video I bring you along as I help out this customer who no longer drives. However she wants to keep her car incase someone wants to use it. It may sit for many months in a garage without being used and that can create a problem. The big problem is the battery goes dead after 3 or 4 months of no use. Let’s install a new battery and a maintainer to solve this issue.
-Enjoy!

  1. One of the truest statements You have stated " No one leaves or gets of off of Planet 🌎 alive."
My warranty is getting low on time.
    Enjoy your Shop.
Love to drink a beer with you , enjoy your humor.

  2. Everyone in town's gotta a villa in Florida, ooo fancy.
11:04 you could put on a remote start and alarm also.
I've said before, if you're doing a battery swap (or any job) on your car for the first time, it's so reassuring to watch someone do it first and shows the little tricks as well. I've DIY'ed since 1980, still grateful to the guy who posted an oil filter change on a 2016 Citroen Picasso (just bought it for me).

  3. I have a NOCO Genius 1 for my boat and it's awesome. Might have to get the 2D for my wife's Fit since we use our Odyssey most of the time.

  4. You got me, mean that. But, you, I mean Eric O gave me another idea. I have 6 vehicles, cant drive them all, storage=charging batteries, so now I got more work to do, installing trickle chargers under the hoods. Great idea. As always, thanks again Tom.

  5. Eric, because of your educational videos, I put a NOCO charger on my 2013 Chevy Silverado that sits in the garage more than it goes out. I watched one of your previous NOCO installs and I thought if he can do it I can do it!! So I did!! Thank You…..

  6. I have done the same to mine the last 2 cars I've had – run a SAE connector out the grille from the jump posts, and chop off the connector on the maintainer if it's not a mating plug so I do. I leave them on the maintainer if I don't drive a few days, and occasionally if I do since I make short runs a lot. I've noticed that my batteries that used to last 2-3 years now last 5-6 surprisingly – so they have an advantage beyond keeping it charged.

  7. Some of the things you say on occasion make me think you served in the military… I can fabricate innuendo out of anything… Its one of my languages….Nice to see a kindred spirit…lol

  8. Eric, great vid! Especially the shout out about Dementia. My wife’s Mom battled 9 years before passing almost 3 years ago. My wife is now preparing to be a consultant for families caring for a loved one. She will be able to offer tricks of the trade to help manage the interpersonal day to day while preserving dignity. I am immensely proud of her and thank you for the ability to shout her out on your terrific channel.

  9. When it comes to electrical systems, NOBODY is installing aftermarket nonsense on my vehicle, especially remote starters or security systems. If it wasn't part of the factory install, I ain't interested.

  10. Where are your safety squints? That little drill bit breaks and ends up in your cornea, then Mrs. O. is mad for ever. Liked the video and seeing Luna is always a treat. Mrs. O. as well.

  11. I agree, on the dementia, it sucks watching family members dealing with it. Grandmother, stet father, and now my mother.
Only bright side is they can hide their own easter eggs! But sucks when they don't know who you are.

  12. I work in a 50+ year old shop, my Boss is in his 70's. We have the same thing with customers, dementia, cancer, sudden death. People that have been his customers since day 1. But we get their kids, and now grandchildren as customers. Still hard when a good customer gets ill. We are also a small town shop, 13000 population.

  13. lol, just put the exact same maintainer on my mothers car today, even broke one of the self tapping/drilling screws, I just left the plug hanging out of the grill so she could plug it in when she gets home. She doesn’t drive much anymore maybe once a month or less, I got tired of driving to her place to jump her battery

  14. One handed sharpie trick, mister black fingers, Car show Points are Important, yes indeed, give up keys, no way! still driving the corvette at at 105, is that age or speed ? QSL 73 88
