I’m at the 2023 International Harvester Red Power Roundup in Grand Island, Nebraska. In this first video, on day one of the show, I take a look around the grounds, meet some viewers, and find some unique tractors and implements.

I owned a Scout back in 1979 until about 1983. Wish I still had it (like most of the stuff I sold or gave away 45 or 50 years ago. in my youth. My Scout had the biggest engine they made at the time: a huge V8 that just guzzled gas. Enjoyed this episode thoroughly Pete! I'm a tad envious of the viewers who got to meet you, but who knows? I may come to the farmer's market one day. Also, I just finished a book by Lee Klancher: The Farmall Dynasty , which you have no doubt already read. It's so tragic that IHC went under. My second favorite tractor brand is Case, so I'm even bummed that they too had to merge. But that's life. Have to accept the things we cannot change, eh? Heading to watch day two of your trip. Thanks for sharing all the time with us!

Pete, we need that Farmall model history vid!
I’ve been watching you a lot for the past week. I’m 40 and recently found out I’m sick, so your thoughts about life have really resonated with me. Especially the career stuff. I was an successful engineer for the last 10 years and hated it. Always wanted to be back on the farm, but I guess I can enjoy some retirement restoring my grandpa’s 3020?? Thanks again for keeping me busy during treatment. 🙂
I owned a 1974 Scout when I was 18, and now I'm almost 70.
Incredible show! I can’t imagine seeing that many Farmalls anywhere! Thanks for sharing!

Awesome tractor Pete your a lucky guy!!!!!!

Graves tractor salvage there with all the hoods
Thank you pete for your videos i love seeing the old red machinery
Im excited for red power roundup 2024. Its coming back to iowa and one of the special tractors is gonna be the super mta. Im so excited, theres gonna be dozens of them for sure. Ever since ive been to my first ever red power roundup in 2017 at the iowa state fair which my grandpa retired from we drove his super m there from home took 20 minutes. Dad and i have a big challenge now to finish my other grandpa's super mta which is 100% in pieces rn. It had a stuck motor we got it resleeved and are putting domed pistons back into it. Plus i have gotten really into learning about our super mta and how they were the first ta tractor. I have also been trying to find the tractors in series with 66655 which is my grandpa darrs. Dad remembers pulling it home from a neighbor with their 41m. It was a nonrunner in the 70s when my grandpa bought it. The closest sn ive found is 66667 at a tractor ride local to us not far from where our smta originated. Im also really hoping for some super mta merchandise. I would love some so i can show my stuff. Again i found a sm shirt which i loved and wore out in elementary school but hoping for a jd 60 and farmall smta shirt and hats.
I'm looking for the video of adjusting the clutch on a 56/86 series tractor
I thought Karen was about to attack you.
Wish I could be there
Awesome video, Pete, thank you
nice video thanks pete
I have a 1206
@8:42 there was a guy driving a 806 with a second seat for his wife.
Would anyone have anymore information on how that kind of configuration is implemented? Or where I could learn more about doing that?
Regards,
What a good egg you are Pete ! Who would go to the trouble to share so much with us like you do ! Thanks buddy from.Michigan ! You bring so much to the table for your viewers. You're awesome ! ðŸ‘💯
Thank you for videoing the show, Pete. I always liked the old school IH tractors from the first ones thru the late 60's thru the 70's before they merged with Case. The new ones are nice too but the old ones are special. However, I grew up on John Deere's. Dad started farming when he came home from Korea in 1953 and he actually farmed with Farmall's until he switched to John Deere in 1964 with a new 4020 Diesel. The last Farmall Dad had was either a 460 or 560 and he said the rear ends or axles kept breaking and so he got fed up and switched to JD. I was born in '58 and so I have a very faint memory of the 460 / 560. I remember all the John Deere's very well though as I was older by then. Take care and thanks again!
Thanks Pete, I never herd of the experimental M, thanks for spending time showing us.
my favorite has to be the orchard tractor, just something you do not see very often and has a certain cool style about it with all the sheet metal!
Thanks for sharing Pete, wish I could have made it for this great IH showðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»
Thanks so much for sharing the video Pete. I was just through Nebraska before the round up on vacation.
I was not there but I will give you a shout out from Texas here.
WOW that was pretty cool thanks for sharing
It's nice to watch. I love itðŸ‘ðŸ‘pete
My relatives had a KB=2. KB-5. Farmall A. Farmall Cub. And an International Harvester chest freezer.
The Farmall M with the two shift levers is an M-8. The transmission works very similar to an O6 series tractor. 5th gear was blocked out. Four speeds forward plus reverse with High/Low range.
It's only a few seconds into the video and I'm enjoying it already keep up the good work
Thank you for taking us along
Thanks for the tour. I wasn't able to go this year. I am partial to the 88 series myself. I have 2 that I farm with along with my 966 and 1066. I hope you can come to Half Century of Progress this year I would love to meet you.
A big thankyou to you for sharing this great show. A great big thank you to Hillary and your kids for taking up the work so you could go and enjoy this.
Hi Pete! I've been following your you tube channel for a while. I grew up on a farm not to far from Ithaca, NE. You look a little a bit like my Dad. However, I'm about the age of your Dad. I chose the profession of mechanical engineering, I do not regret this a bit. I liked tractors a lot more than farming. The Farmall M that my Dad bought 1948 was a big part of my life. For a while we had a diesel 45 0n our farm. Lee
I'll be eagerly awaiting the next two days so see if you happened to run into Tyler Montgomery with Territorial Trading! He's a big IH guy that lives in Kansas and had some of his cool stuff there. Thanks for the video, Pete!
best part of the video was :Pete's NO 1 fan:
Really nice to see some of the show. Looking forward to your next videos. I hope you get to see the Scouts. They were built in my hometown of Fort Wayne. The building is still there along with the heavy truck plant, the upholstery / wiring building, and the engineering complex. Harvester Homecoming is here every year. We get a good variety of IH vehicles and memorabilia from all over the country. And last year International sent some vehicles from their museum to ours on loan. It's not nearly as big as Red Power Roundup but still quite exciting.
I could look at it all day long nice …great vlog Sir ðŸ‘
Shout out from Brooklyn NY 😎
