The recently launched Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor. In today’s video, I decided to compare it with the 48MP Sony sensor on the Redmi Note 7 Pro to find out if megapixels really matter!
The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a quad camera setup to the rear. The primary sensor is the 64MP Isocell Bright GW1, while the other 3 cameras are an 8MP ultra wide, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro.
On the flip side, the redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor as it’s primary rear camera. The secondary sensor is a 5 MP depth sensor.
When it comes to selfies, we have a 20MP front camera on the Redmi Note 8 Pro compared to a 13MP one on the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
On the software side of things, both these phones run on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.

I agree that the Note 7 Pro takes generally better photos than the Note 8 Pro because of its superior Sony IMX586 sensor: warmer colours, higher dynamic range, better low-light pictures, etc. Only the sharpness of objects in the back on the Note 8 Pro is higher due to the higher resolution.
