In the Gunsmithing trade, we call small parts like tiny fasteners, pins, springs, etc., "air soluble" because once they roll, spring, or otherwise launch themselves, you ain't finding it again.

As noted in my last comment on the rusty 350, METRIC and SAE are not the same! "Ohh that's a 3/8ths not a 10!" and you switched to a 3/8ths and preceded to break the bleeder loose. I can only assume you actually got a 3/8ths socket and not a six point 10mm but that's the chance viewers take.
Sure you can use six point tools in the wrong place and get fair results, but you keep throwing 12 point Metric tools at SAE fasteners and you will end up with busted knuckles or stripped corners. Abuse at your own risk.
Ray, you might of used that open container to flush the machine first. Or just toss it and never put it back on the shelf Dave…

I have had both knees replaced at 55 Ray. When they start hurting 24-7, find a good doc. I have been a licensed plumber for 36 years and an industrial mechanic for 29. When the knees go, you figure out what else has gone bad also. 😅

Would love to have a brake flush machine, I go one step further and push out each caliper and flush them out with new fluid. In a shop, there's probably no time allocated for that
I wonder if the suction hose failing has anything to do with you using it for non-brake fluids
