Congrats ray on the new shop, yes i am aways back, but starting here onwards, have watched a few recent 1s, but from then to now hell of a journey
Very nice I wasn’t aware of the fact that you had your own shop now I could use some help on my Chrysler 300 but I’m an antelope valley and you’re in Fresno or kind of a ways away from each other
I would put customers parts inside the build
very nice. but could do with more organization tbh.
Nothing better than watching a guy succeed with hard work and his integrity still intact. Most people lose the interest to treat customers with respect and give them the service they deserve. Nice work. Bravo team Ray.
Looking like you’ve it all under control. I know it an older video but I will watch all of them. Nice job. 👠Artie
Do it strait on… make it idiot proof? Fast brainless…
Turning out to be a sweet shop that I'm sure you are loving @Rainman Ray's Repairs
Ya can never have to many towels Gloves or brake clean @Rainman Ray's Repairs
Lots of progress nice @Rainman Ray's Repairs
A true mechanic never gives up, sometimes our thinking is way ahead of our ability but there is nothing a mechanic can’t fix when it comes to solving problems with mechanical issues. You passed in my books. Longer bolt and nut will save your customer money.
That's funny no one has stolen the compressor yet?
i dont know if it's been covered in any of the videos, but have you considered switching the position of the biggest lift with the middle/straight-in one? seems like it would prevent incidents to have a straight-in drive for the bigger vehicles
You use so much brake clean I didn't think you had a parts washer. I have that exact one and if you want to make it bad ass and mobile, All you need is a pallet and a sheet of plywood and some casters. It also brings it up to a much better workable height.
Looking great awesome improvements
Love the content.
(I know it’s not my shop but if it was I’d just put a bay door where that window and closet is just drive straight in since the lifts going there anyways.) and still be able to put things where the closet is or was-after it’s gone-) but that’s just me. Your already demoing that closet there anyways and the window already gone so it’s easier to open up and put a garage door there and still have the walk in door
It all looks like it is coming together great! I know there is a ton of expense going into building it all out, and you definitely have more overhead now, but is it doing better for you financially than working for another shop? I'm really hoping it is. You are a talented mechanic and you deserve all the success life can possibly throw at you. One thing I would be sure to do is get a really good security system. It's not hard to find where your shop is and now you've given everybody an inventory of what is contained in it, so the evil people of the world may take that as an opportunity for thievery. Things like your wooden plank over the window should definitely get blocked off with something that keeps people from being able to crawl in. I'd cover that place in cameras and security lights and alarms.
One of the best things about being a mechanic, your tools, are investments and returns in all directions. They are expensive to buy, but they make you money when you use them, and when you retire you can sell them and get most and in some cases nearly all the money back. So I can absolutely respect all the work, time, and money you have here, and have shown. Which is why I always give you a Thumbs up Ray, well deserved, you work hard and I'm entertained! Even an old school master mechanic like me occasionally learns something new. Always learning and as cars get more and more complex there's always something to learn or a hidden trick as I like to call them. We also belong to a type of trade and I know not the only one here, but definitely one that solves problems in a huge diverse set of methodology and ways. Some ways standard, others what we have learned over the years that works, and some things that are truly out of the box thinking. Like this one time years ago I want to say it was a 1978 Camaro I was working on in the mid 80s but I can't remember for sure, anyway I had a hard time getting the water pump gasket to stay on and in place, I know there are gasket glues and what not but you have to careful as you can damage the gasket and or cause a leak, so after I had cleaned the surface I mixed up some purple coolaid in a Dixie cup lol a special Mechanic's reserve lol dipped a brush in and brushed in on the engine. Waited let it dry and man was that a sticky surface, held the gasket in place, perfectly had no issues and then a few years later I remember I had to go back in there and remembered the Jimmy Jones Job I did, and though man I hope this isn't going to bite me in the butt. Turns out the surface wasn't stick anymore and the filter came off about like normal. I figured the sugar was burned off over time and heat. So, there you go, a hidden trick, if you got a surface that you need something to stay in place a few moments, sugar. I also had to do this when I was changing a water pump on a KIA soul 2011, and the new one wasn't keyed for the pulley so lol, screwing those back together was very impossible. It wasn't an OEM water pump, which next time I'll buy, but it was a very good Japanese brand, but no key for the pulley. So, lol I did a Jimmy Jones Job on that too which held it in place, another job like that I did but instead of coolaid I used a paper tin 3M sticky pad put 3 of them on the water pump pulley assembly and as the pulley went on it stuck stayed there in place well enough to screw it back together, that car is still running today with the help of 3M. Lol I called that the Office Job. Anyway, we get the point. Sorry I'm old and tell long winded Dad stories, it's my thing. Have a great week everyone!
Ok Ray….You wanna know what I think?…I am SUPER jealous of the really nice shop and business you have built for yourself.I am so jealous it makes me angry…..Ok not really but I am really impressed with what you have accomplished and could only wish to have done as much myself.
Doing great !!!
I didn’t see too many fire-extinguishers?
