  1. I inherited a vehicle like this from my brother, vw passat wagon 4 motion. It needed everything, water pump leak, driver window not working, lights not working, oil leaks, egr system needed work. It sat in my garage for about a year, then my daughter needed a car. I tore the thing down, fixed everything and got it smog'd . It was like a nice polished turd but it did run great. I handed it off to my daughter and she drove it to Mammoth Lakes where she worked. It ran great up until my daughter killed it by trying to 4 wheel drive it into a place to rock climb. She busted a hole in the transmission pan and then tried to drive it home. It got home but then wouldn't move. She burned the transmission up a year after I rebuilt the entire car. What a bunch of wasted money but to me it wasn't about the money. I love wrenching on a cars. It was about the adventure of wrenching on a car I new very little about. I think this is how Ray looks at these cars, as if its a new adventure everytime. The feathers in the dash of this volvo reminds me of my daughter and how she would try to save this car. Love your video's Ray

  2. This vehicle strikes me is being symbol of the one you showed earlier this week that was in disrepair and neglect apparently it looks like either somebody attempted to do a timing chain or did it timing chain and forgot the tighten the bolts up on the camshaft whichever the lucky that didn't come apart have a great day yeah thanks for showing us vehicles if some people believe in disrepair it scares me that they're out on the road have a great day p

  3. 40 years in the business has taught me something about Volvo owners: The hate cars. It's part of the liberal uniform and they resent having to own one. Volvos have always been over rated, overpriced, poorly performing vehicles. Good for liberal virtue signaling and that's about all.

  4. When test driving a vehicle for a daily driver, I have always checked the turn signal stalk solidness (👀 📺 ew oily alternator)

  5. I think its the oil cooler hoses. Given how contaminated the cambelt is anyway, that needs doing and while you're at it, do all the seals.

As for the rest of the junker…. Ouch.

  6. Tell me what's wrong with my basket case vehicle I bought from a salvage yard so I can not pay you for the time it took to find the problems on my basket case of a vehicle.
    Sound about right?

  7. It doesn't even have 200K on it!? How? All of the cars I have owned, but one, had over 100k and ended with well over 200k. I haven't owned a VW, but I would imagine they are built with similar quality to a Toyota, GM, or Ford.

  8. you have to install a new timing belt and all the seals, to honest that is a car that shows lack of maintenence the cost of all the repairs excede the valuue
