I’m not a review channel, but I couldn’t resist trying out this laptop as it looks extremely sleek and has a rich feature set. .

  1. In Dec 2020 I reviewed K-Focus Laptop – My workhorse laptop I use today – https://youtu.be/YuuQnnWODn0
This title "portable laptop" comes from the slim nature of this tuxedo laptop. My K-focus is quite a bit bigger, but also more powerful and I don't like taking it everywhere. This was the reasoning behind the title of this video and also a great use case for the road warriors out there that don't need the power of a bigger laptop, but need a great Linux based laptop.

  2. Speakers are way too quiet and it gets super hot by simply recharging it. Overly hyped by the Linux community if you ask me. I really wanted to like it.

  3. So a Chinese-made laptop pretending to be German, stuck with Ubuntu and proprietary software forcing you to use specific repositories. What's not to like XD I'm glad I didn't buy from them. I had my doubts after a little discussion with them about their configurations anyway.

  4. I'm so tired of single-panel trackpads that freak out because I just want to click with my thumb and leave it resting on the button. They also make dragging things harder. I could easily live without gestures, and I just want people to keep separate buttons as an option, but most never do. This is why I've been sticking with Lenovo.

  5. I live in Germany and have pinged the Tuxedo computer server and the response time was an average of 20 ms. The delay is only due to the distance. (😉

since when does youtube have emojis in the comments? 🤔)

  6. Gestures aren't supported by default you should install libinput, it's awesome you can directly say do this plasma action with libinput qt, so you don't even have to know what is the command that executes what you want to do.

  7. I'll have to look into this one some. Not a big fan of "Linux" marketed laptops aside from System76. They seem to have a good handle on making everything open source and providing repair parts/documentation. For me though. I bought a Thinkpad x250 off eBay this year for $130. It's served me very well so far and does everything I need a laptop to. I run Manjaro, and I look forward to trying your Debian install. Though I've never used strictly a window manager only install. Always xfce.

  8. Using a comma for a decimal instead of a period has got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
The period signals the end of a sentence, just as it signals the end of whole dollars and the change to parts of a dollar.
Commas are like slowing down instead of stopping. Using a period to mark thousands? What's up with that?

  9. Wait, did you said multiple times *2050 ti*? Are you sure is not a 3050 ti or a 1650 ti? Because there are strong rumors of a 2050ti for laptops but nobody has confirmed it exists in the wild…Might wanna contact the company as they could be in trouble for NDA stuff if you basically just broke NDA unbeknownst to you.

  10. This a real nice machine but for my personal use I can not go back to a regular laptop after using a 2-in-1 with pen support. It just makes school work a lot easier for taking notes or even doing homework. I still yet to find one that is perfect for me. For example have it be user upgradable, like ram and storage, has a micro sd card slot, not the full sd, some way to attach an external gpu tjrough either tbunderbolt or a special connection like asus and other brands have done, and lastly have it use Wacom instead of Microsoft's "Ntrig" technology.

  11. Great review! I have had my Kubuntu-Focus laptop for right at a year now. I increased the storage to 4 TB (2 2TB M.2 SSDs). It has 64gb RAM with a RTX 2070 graphics card. I dual-boot Kubuntu and Windows 11. Tuxedo's version of Kubuntu makes my ML dev work a breeze. I am super impressed with this machine. Keep up the good work on your videos, Chris. I watch this channel religiously.

  12. Did you burn Windows 11 retail boxes to make the smoke at the start? 😁
Seriously, great video thank you. Ive been interested in getting a laptop with Linux as the primary focus.
