Since when are teachers qualified to suggest medication? Most of them are barley qualified to teach…
I think the people who are rejecting vaccination have not been seriously sick themselves bc they got vaccinated as babies and children. I was born in 1958 and remember people twisted for life not able to walk or turn their head or feed themselves after polio. I remember the big red quarantine signs the county board of health nailed to front doors for measles. People would take groceries to the door and race away. A lot of people didn't have phones so they were cut off from everyone. I have a friend whose daughter is deaf and blind bc my friend had measles when she was pregnant. I could go on and on. I hope everyone reads this and takes note. My mother was a nurse so we kids were always the first to get vaccinated. Many were not so lucky. Also, in New York children couldn't be registered for school without their vaccination card. I'm going to shut up now.
24:54 Are you kidding me? My dad was deployed 3 times before I was 10! It’s normal to feel sad and scared and cry. It’s not bipolar; it’s NORMAL.
All kids are bipolar. That’s why you can’t officially diagnose mood disorders until the brain finishes developing.
It's medical malpractice. Doctors should be educated in healthy living and tell parents about it before resorting to medication. Kids should stop eating so much junk food, even the so called breakfast cereal is junk food loaded with sugar. Perhaps it's the way teachers and parents are dealing with the children causes the problems.
This seems like child abuse to me..
Maybe the food plays a factor. Then the medication is needed. The food and drug administration needs to be separate entities……….
Do the teachers help funnel the children into the system? Do the teachers need more education in order to handle such situations or do the classrooms need to be downsized with the number of total children?
Children who are in the foster care system are often used as test subjects with new medications and the parents get no say if they want their child on medication.
Had I been born in the U.S, I would have been medicated through out, I was exactly like Jacob, so active running up and down, God helped I was born in Africa with no such diagnosis, am now 40 yrs, perfectly ok, academically excellent, a husband and a possibly a good father.
The funny part, one of my boys is exactly like me, born in the U.S, when they began that nosense of diagnosis, I moved them to Africa to save him.
this is terrifying enough and we have to worry about the ones who want to change their sex 3:38 yes.. give them meth.. look up the chemical compounds.. Ritalin and Adderall is pharmaceutical meth
Corn dogs, goldfish & Gatorade. 🤮
BS Bipolar cant be diagnosed until the age of 27 children are reacting to their shitty enviorment. Drugs are to keep people in line. Human didnt get drugged up until "CAPITALISM" 💸💲💶💵💷 I would tell his teacher to get F*** Lithiam will kill everyone of your organs. My friend was missdiagnosed with bipolar and now he body doesnt work anymore she decide to go off cold and the took her bipolar diagnose away😂 none of this shit is real all made up
Some of these kids need medicine to even focus
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I must say that these medication regimens are scary.
They are children. Their brains are not fully developed yet. What the hell??
Diet! Diet ! Diet! Was never brought up by doctors, but when people visit doctors they want a quick fix a pill.
We didnt get this drugs growing up, in the 50-60-1970, now its like almost all kids are given drugs, than we teach kids not to take drugs, crazy, What has happened with the kids is it parents both have to work and kids are left on there own .Is other countries having to drug their kids compared to USA. Is this a issue everywhere? How much are drug companies making off the mental health of our kids? We need to all wake up and look at what is going on with the kids, are parents to lazy to deal with there child issues there not enough time in the day when parents both are away from there homes
Bruh these doctors are the problem. One second they’re talking about the risks of over medicating the next they’re upping their doses
The fact that the doctor said no other therapy will help 99% medicine is making me physicality sick
This is very sad how these children are put on heavy medications and not worked with more physically to work on their behavior.
As i'm watching this, I remember the tobacco company saying that cigarettes are safe based on their studies. Kind of laughable at least a bit anyways.
Whether talking about the little girl that died from so much chlodine, was it because she was given too much or prescribed too much.
I would have to lock up jessica. That was my daughter sorry
The family that doctor bacon srrs, I would love to ask.Why have more kids if you have one? That has all these issues. Is it something like let's keep having one until we get a good one..
Thankful that I grew up with parents that have a backbone.
😢 u can tell right off the top she has a complex about her overbite which doesn't help her self esteem
Jacob is over medicated big time.
Lithium works til you can't stop moving your body. I'm sorry to the families
Yep. Still happening today. Thanks to these lazy ass teachers.
Its been 17 years and things are pretty much the same now as they were in 2008.
I think you need to let kids be kids without medicating their brain. The brain needs to develop naturally without the influence of chemicals in my opinion. I wish parents could be patient and stop relying on Drs and pills to "fix" their children.
I was a new teacher when the ADHD rise began & it broke my heart when teachers only saw a problem instead of the kid. Our youngest son was recommended for ADHD meds in preschool. I held out for yrs, worked with him intensively and behavior wasn’t an issue. Concentration was. I agreed to place him on the lowest dose and monitor closely. We gave it a try for a few months. Meds made him tired. His “sparkle†disappeared. Summer arrived, and I never gave him the meds again. Instead, we figured out his “gapsâ€, recognized them, figured out triggers, or causes and addressed them. He was so smart, but struggled with reading. He got one on one tutorial with me. Preteen anger issues started, and again we identified triggers and practiced what to do when anger starts. He is a grown man, with kids of his own, successful, he made me a better mom and teacher. The things he taught me, I put into play with students. Of hundreds of medicated students I’ve taught, IMO, only a handful actually needed it. One thing we didn’t figure out until he was thirty, is he had gigantic tonsils, adenoids that affected his sleep. He contracted a case of strep that wouldn’t go away, was referred to ENT, who said they had to come out. He proceeded to outline all his childhood behaviors, learning difficulties and said they are seeing this a great deal in adults now. Why? Removal of tonsils adenoids was a routine practice for kids before the seventies. They quit doing that and subsequently kids can’t get into deep sleep because tonsils, adenoids size. The symptoms of sleep deprivation and ADHD mirror each other. Extended sleep deprivation exhibit psychotic behavior. After tonsils and adenoids were removed, he suddenly had energy, woke refreshed…. No more insomnia…. A younger daughter had huge tonsils and adenoids removed at age five. The sleep deprivation, snoring, etc disappeared. She never progressed to being a maybe she should see a dr for behavior student. She’s grown, successful, too.
A couple grandkids have also had tonsils and adenoids removed and seen improvement in sleep, concentration etc.
I don’t think the medical community has a clue what they are doing when it comes to children.
I don't like to see medication for children targeted and villainized even though we need to be so wary of big pharmaceutical corporations and their agendas. I say this because I have a son diagnosed with classic textbook ADHD who has been treated by a prescription of adderall since the age of 8, combined with counseling and psychiatric oversight. He was able to develop excellent behavioral controls, and became an honors student in high school and college, developed high end art and computer skills, served in Americorps, and is successful and stable at work, not to mention wildly popular wherever he goes. His only real challenges are with a high boredom threshold and focusing on tasks he's not interested in. People don't believe it's a real disorder because of what a successful person he is but without medication all his abilities just fade away and he is crippled with anxiety, and struggles in all aspects of impulse control and is subject to quick anger bursts. He would probably need to go on disability support, and might even need a group home with professional supervision. I'm not kidding.
Still, my belief is that for ADHD, children younger than six shouldn't be treated with medication , but they need involved parenting and directed behavioral "therapy " appropriate for their age.
I was over-medicated as a kid, I did throw fits and "misbehaved" but that was all linked to having ADHD in an abusive home where my needs were never met. I didn't need to be medicated, I needed parents who actually cared.
I have a niece that's on meds for oppositional defiant disorder the meds don't seem like they r working to me she's. 10😮
Get these kid off the computers, iPads and get them outside to play and spend off some other that energy. I do not believe this many kids in our country have to be on these strong medicines. Stop the insanity of all the injections when they are babies. We never got that many injections in that short of time. We were still getting our shots in sixth grade. It isn’t done that way anymore. They are poisoning these children. It’s the saddest thing I have watched grow over my 70 years
