  1. If you had disconnected the fuel lines and electrical wire and moved it to safety, the motor wouldn't have tipped over and you would have the transom fixed by now.

  2. The main problem is that you didn't care enough to check with an expert on the internet. Taking things apart and learning from your mistakes is fine on a piece of junk but not on your boat that has served you well for years.

  3. See, this is the results of not going on the internet to see how it's done. Many have failed before so the right way is documented and the prove of trying first is in the pudding, so to speak.

  4. I have learnt a lot from you thank you so how much ya like feet to my text thing I know the type but I'm not going to take that time when I can just talk to the thing is hieroglyphics you figure it out

  6. A Couple of people are wrong.
Marine plywood is seriously better than standard plywood.
It's the only wood we used on boats of any kind in the Florida Keys (I lived there for 10 years) or here in Miami.
No matter what you do to regulate plywood it won't hold up long if a boat is left in the water or exposed to the weather.
If your gonna do a job.
    Do it right.
It'll cost less in the long run.

  7. If you ever need to do a transom or some such for someone that is worried about longevity, use the plywood. Cover it with a couple of layers of fiberglass mat. Coat all holes made into the wood with butyl caulk inside and out. You will never need to replace it again. Learned that at boat repair shop I worked at. As proof of concept the owner was changing the engines out on his boat after 25 years in place. When the bolts came out all there was was dust from the holes. Never had a drop of moisture enter the transom. This was on a saltwater boat the went out in the Gulf of Mexico on a regular basis(as far as 80 miles out). Just an FYI for possible future needs, and my apologies if you already know this, not trying to tell you how to do you. Love all the vids and can't wait for the next journey in the garage wrenching on some ol rusty junk.

  8. If you haven't finished resurfacing your pontoon yet, please don't use RESTORE, it looks great the first year then it starts to flake and peel off. I followed the preparation and application instructions to the letter and used it to paint my deck. What a mistake, after two years my deck was ruined (I live near Toronto, similar climate to Maine). By the way, I really enjoy your videos, I find them very instructional. I wish I saw them a few years ago before I threw out a gas powered lawn mower and weed trimmer. Probably would have saved me a few hundred bucks!

  9. Please wear proper foot where those stupid tennis shoes are going to destroy your vertebrare, I can't stand to watch. Wear military style lace up boots.

  10. Now you know why they quit using them things. I work for a well-known freight company that used to use them in we start having trailers fall forward as they Jack them up from the rear bumper. Or the bumper would just completely collapse and the traitor would fall forward and shoot that Jack out of the back of it like a rocket. Exciting times.
