The Pixel 9 Pro’s design is one of the most talked-about aspects of the new series of phones. Its relatively compact design means you can have a smaller phone that still has most of the pro features you crave. However, it’s undeniable that it looks a lot like an iPhone, which is controversial. I’ve been using the Pixel 9 Pro for about a week now, and I absolutely love it — even though I can admit it is very iPhone-like. Here’s why this is good news for Android!

  1. I’ve just traded in iPhone 15 pro max for s24 ultra but it feels just like the s23 ultra so went all out and traded s24 ultra for pixel 9 pro xl and what a great phone first time pixel user and loving it.

  2. fanwars against brand is so scary at least for people like me living most of the time in both os world 😭 i actually appreciate adaptation in either side as long as everyone's enjoying it whether its usb c or flat screen

  3. Potato, potatoe. Yes, they look the same enough to warrant claim that google ‘barrowed’ design cues from Apple.

—still rocking the iPhone 12 mini

  4. You mentioned all of the similar design elements and completely ignored the most obvious one: the rounded corners and corner radius being basically identical to the iPhone.

I guess that mentioning it wouldn't allow you to sell this blatant copying as a positive, unlike the constant mockery you Western reviewers hurled at the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

  5. Looking to switch from the Galaxy S23 Ultra to the Pixel 9 Pro. I simply want something more affordable with less bloatware, and I like the look of stock Android. Oh, and the Pixel gets the latest Android updates before other Android phones.

  6. Honestly speaking i have the 8pro and I do not find that phone big at all. Now the S24 ultra is big. Hard to handle. But this year going for the XL anyway hahahah

  7. I've been an iPhone user since the 5 but this new pixel has me seriously considering it. Plus nothing has changed with apple in the last few years, I'm starting to get bored of them.

  8. You know I've honestly got to say I don't care how this phone compares to Apple in the slightest I wanted some information on how it lasted in the battery life. They all copy from each other there's only so much you can do with a rectangle

  9. the video makes no sense.
    all phones are square bricks.
    and who cares.

the real difference is the hardware you get for your money.

google sell this year the similar weak hardware, from last year to a unserious prize .

in hte past google do same, sell outdatet hardware that was far behind flagships.
but in the past google take for this weak hardware a serious price that match it.
    this year a new story……

iphone in compare to google every year hold its hardware on state of the art level, that matches with other flagships.

if google try now to sell a honda civic performance for the price of a ferarri why not .

with a iphone you pay similar the price of a ferarri but you get the performce of a ferrari.

google and iphone are to different story.

  10. I absolutely hate the iPhone design with those extra round corners. I hate the extra width in comparison to the height. I hate that Google wants to copy that from Apple. If I wanted an iPhone I would buy one. I buy Pixels because I like the things that are unique to Google. Stop trying to become a clone of some other company and instead focus on your own customers who buy from you because of your unique features, not because of your cheap imitations of some other brand.

  11. It's really not hard to leave apples walled off ecosystem. You just have to try to do it. You'll be surprised how much more you can do with an android than you could with an apple product. The one thing I quit using my iPhone over was the inability to just drag files or download something to the phone and use it like music or movies. Apple still makes you use iTunes for that.

  12. Apple and Samsung do not yet realize the threat that Google poses to the smartphone market, neither are the ignoramuses, yet they are the baby in this segment…

  13. The whole Google vibes this year feel like Apple and it's not just the phone, but the watch and earbuds as well…. And I'm okay with it. While I don't like Apple products anymore, I love the design language and I think Google doing a similar thing is okay!

  14. I think you are forgetting HTC in this equation and how Apple "borrowed" their design language and then Goog bought HTC's engineering and design teams

  15. An interesting take , didnt expect to see a video on this whole angle.

Not really bothered, it looks nice but i really like the design of my P7.

Have pre ordered a Hazel 9 Pro, will decide then.

  16. I got the Pixel 9 Pro XL. I find it more manageable in the hand than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Those sharp edges on the S24 really dug into my hands. Plus, I didn't find I was using the stylus all that much. Also, Google's voice to text is supreme!

  17. iPhone and Androids have been taking from each other's physical design from the beginning. Specifically from HTC in the early years. Google eventually purchased HTCs hardware design team to work on Pixel phones. Just a little history lesson.
